NVIDIA is preparing a late-May 2023 launch of its upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 Ti performance segment graphics card. A list of key dates associated with the launch was leaked to the web, which states that the company is planning a late-May product launch, with market availability of the card slated within May 2023, ahead of Computex. A late-May launch would set the RTX 4060 Ti up for a direct clash with the AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT, which has a launch date confirmed for May 25th. Interestingly, while there's some clarity on the launch of the RTX 4060 Ti (PG190 SKU 361), the more affordable RTX 4060 (PG173 SKU 371) remains shrouded in mystery. Given how successful the current RTX 3060 is in the market, NVIDIA would want to avoid clubbing the launches of the two 4060-series SKUs, and may give the RTX 4060 an exclusive launch during or after Computex.

Wonder how this will go down because the 60 Ti price is now more what you'd expect from a x700 xt tier card ?

7600xt I would imagine is going to be cheaper than the 4060 non ti

399 because 4070 is exactly 50% faster + VRam. But if we follow the 4070 to 4080 logic the price doubles, in this case 299 makes more sense.

Which is lukewarm pricing for a bottom rung card

Kind of impossible to believe that it could launch at lower MSRP than the 3060Ti when the rest of 4000 got price hikes vs 3000 equivalents. I'm betting $449.

tbh nvidia 40 series is very powerful but it is crippled by its high price, i guess they dont want to raise the performance level to high
for example from the gtx 9 series to 10 series... GTX980 to 1080 was double in performance,

There will always be a segment that buys anything.

Crypto miners are effectively dead.
The 3000 series is flooding markets.
Nobody wants to pay the price of a new game console for a low tier video card.

I think that the 4060 and 4060 ti are going to find an absolutely chilly reception. Those people with money are buying up the chain...and those people without can find a 3000 series card of equal performance much cheaper. That's not even talking the relatively painful competition with AMD...who knows that RT doesn't matter at this price point so slapping on more RAM and calling it a day may actually produce a superior value...even if the feature set isn't superior. Yay, inefficiencies in one market padding the bottom line of another.

In theory, the RX 7600 series should be a direct competitor to the RTX 4060 series. However, I feel the AMD card is not going to compete favorably when it comes to performance, and efficiency. The problem is that the RX 7600 series is somewhat of a RDNA2+ on an older 6/7nm node. RDNA3 chips should all be manufactured on TSMC 5nm if I am not mistaken. In addition, RDNA3 is not really performing that well since you need a Navi 31 to match up with a RTX 4080/ 4070 Ti, so I am not expecting the RX 7600 to be a big step up from the RX 6650 XT. Based on rumors, it may catch up with the RX 6700 XT, but a 6700 XT have more VRAM, plus, it is not exactly that fast in today's context.

The GTX 9 series was crippled by the cancellation of TSMC 20nm. As a result it was backported to 28nm, which held back final performance and artificially inflated the improvements of the GTX 10 series.

also the terrible releases of new AAA games doesnt help gpu sales
What you dont want a new $2000 GPU for the latest bugfest? How will you manage your microtransactions without a RTX 4090 nitro+ turbo ultimate edition?

Also, let us not forget its spring. Spring is usually a down time for any hardware sales, since its nice out. People can go outside again. I normally slow down my internet during the warmer months, why pay when you are not using it?

RTX 4060 Ti is such a senseless product. I was hoping to upgrade 3060TI in my backup rig with 4060TI but Nvidia is giving me zero incentive to do so. 10 to 15% performance uplift from generation to generation is totally not worth the money, even if it's priced 350 bucks. Plus 3060TI is able to run Half life Alyx on HP Reverb G2 VR headset at 4320x2160p (60% SS) on medium/high settings just fine. I have serious doubts 4060TI will be able to achieve that given it's narrow 128-bit memory bus (vs 256 bit of 3060TI). All in all 4060TI feels like a sidegrade or even downgrade in some respects. Todays 4070 would have been 4060TI in normal world :(

Well, D4 launches in a month or so, gonna be playing it for years to come, I wanted to upgrade to the 4070Ti, but then I saw that lame 12GB VRAM, pathetic.

Probably will upgrade around the 7000 series or something. Assuming I am still among the living.
