NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 40 series lineup of graphics cards has been supporting massive cooler designs ranging from three to four slots in thickness, with gamers rarely even getting a standard two-slot solution available. However, GALAX recently announced a novel entry into this lineup: the RTX 4060 Ti Max 16 GB Unparalleled Max, a GPU noted for its unprecedented single-slot design and exceptionally thin 20 mm profile. This model, previously previewed on GALAX's China website, stands out with its unique vapor chamber cooling system paired with a copper heatsink, diverging from the typical multi-fan setups seen in the market. Measuring at 267x111x20 mm, the design is very friendly towards smaller cases with room for only a single slot cooler.

The RTX 4060 Ti Max is set to operate at a default clock speed of 2535 MHz, with a power target of 165 Watts, suggesting a solid performance base for all GPU-intensive sessions. Currently, GALAX has yet to indicate the availability of an 8 GB version or the inclusion of a non-Ti model with this cooler, as only a 16 GB version has been shown. Interestingly, GALAX has made overclocking the card possible; however, the voltage regulation module setup is 6+2 VRMs placed on a six-layer PCB, not providing an ideal overclocking setup. Additionally, while feasible, overclocking the GPU with such a tiny single-slot cooler should be approached cautiously.

I hope they do. This is honestly closer to where GPU's should be both in terms of max power and size. 16GB is perfect and no need for 8GB. Just my opinion; I also know everyone wants MOAR WATTS lol, but I pay the electric bills at my house and would much rather have this. Come on AMD pay attention! Is there one of these in a 7900XTX?

Are they trying to compete the number of 'X' they had in the product name with AMD?

The double Max did it for me. On a LP card no less. Awesome

Unparalleled, too, for a parallel processing unit!

Next they'll say its the cheapest card in the Ada line up at 2500 bucks.

They should have opted to use miniDP connectors to double the exhaust mouth size.

I've said for a long time that triple slot solutions are overkill and a waste of space. But W1zzard won't call them out, because there's supposedly enough space in a PC case.
And I'm not saying "don't make triple slot mid range cards", I'm just saying "don't make only triple slot mid range cards".

I wonder if there is still a maket for these. SFF cases have evolved to accomodate thicker GPUs and even the smallest ones can do dual slot. I would be much more interested in a small dual slot 4070ti or a 185mm long 4070 than this.

This will use just as much power as a regular 4060ti except it will just have horrible thermals.

That's actually pretty cool to see. Honestly, I think the last single slot GPU I used was a 7600GT. After that was the 8800GTS and that took up two slots and it's been that way or more since.

Even if there is space for a dual-slot card, in some setups not occupying that space can result in improved air flow. In other cases in may just easier access to a fan header on the motherboard or smth like that.

I'm not sure about horrible thermals, triple slot solutions were over the top anyway. Let's just hope this one doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner instead.

It will thermal throttle, and when it does it will use less power. I had and reviewed the 1070 Katana years ago and it did exactly this. Ran up to turbo clock for about a full minute, then hit 75C and fell all the way back to base clock where it would equalize at around ~115W and 86C, far below the 150W rating.

The form factor alone makes this card an interesting option in the day and age of massive coolers. I wonder, however, if a one-slot card really has enough cooling power to keep temperatures and noise down to acceptable levels. For me, the sweet spot still is the two-slot design in the area of SFF self-built PCs with less than ten liters of volume.

That's what is making this card so intruiging, we just don't have review info and performance numbers.

Even though 4060/4060 Ti sucks, they're great what it comes to their power consumption as it allows making smaller cards.
