ummm how do you know what cat food tastes like?

Then it's not so bad.
Friend of mine survived the early 2020 months by eating cat food, it's perfectly edible for humans it just looks bad. She's the one and only catgirl, everyone else is a poser.

good lord. Do they not have anything like Food Stamps or a Food Bank or a Community Kitchen where your friend could get human food in your country?

@64K it wasn't enough for everyone at the time and the town was in lockdown. When I was a kid we had UN relief packages and I assure you the protein bars aren't too far from cat food, my mom used to boil them and boy the smell those things had managed to kill your hunger by itself, guess that's effective. There were also instant mashed potatoes that tasted like rust and chipped beef.
