Been available for quite a while (more than a year for nvidia users), just not advertised well. I also believe you get a large demo of Portal as well. Either way free is always good.

I've got 3 games in my Steam account, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2, and Lost Coast. I paid all of $2.49 for them total.

I'm debating whether or not to pay $5 (WHAT A RIPOFF!) for CS:S.

No idea, I've been on my Steam account like twice, once to confirm the purchase of TF2 (which I haven't played yet) and the 2nd time for this deal. I know nothing of Steam except that many of my friends have it.

It's just the Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. It's only a multiplayer version of the Half-Life 2 game. Pretty fun though
