I was just browsing around on Guru3d when I saw the latest version of Afterburner, I was reading the release notes and I saw:

Added core voltage control for alternate revision of reference design NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 series graphics cards

Alternate revision of refernce design? Has anyone spotted this or seen anything about it? I don't see any news. Is it something major, or just something like a change in voltage controller or something?

I was wondering this too but couldn't find any information on it. Does anyone know the about this supposed alternate revision? I would hope they beefed up the 4 phase VRM, since they tend to not like to be OCed really high or else boom.

Hi

Alternate revision of reference design? It might be an MSI

MSI released the N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition graphics card. The new graphics card not only features the latest Twin Frozr III dual fan cooling module but also exclusive Propeller Blade technology for 20% more airflow. Under full load, these reduce the GPU temperature by 18¢ªC and fan noise by 7.7dB compared to the reference board. The popular Power Edition architecture from R6950 Twin Frozr III Power Edition has also been retained. The use of 6+1 phase power supply and Triple Overvoltage support enhances overclockability and stability, increasing the overclocking potential by 22%1! For consumers looking for great cooling, overclocking potential and stability, the N570GTX Twin Frozr III Power Edition offers the perfect balance between performance and cooling.

nb: anyone into H2o, I am not sure they have a water block out for these at present
