how does a laptop CPU make 3 dollar per day when a 64 core threadripper 3990X makes less than two dollars per 24 hours without electricity cost?
"Intel lover" is me.
No, I do not dispute that someone can own three or more computer systems (I have three), but that he only owns what he dreams at night. Otherwise, he wouldn't say so many stupid things.
I see that he has added one more to his rich record. :peace:

I'm not an expert in the field, but I read somewhere that CPU mining (home user platforms, AM4/5, LGA1700 etc.) is totally ineffective.

Are you sure I meant you there are more Intel fanboys on TPU. I already replied to you with pics and specs of my PCs so try again. It is not my fault if you feel triggered. Once again you are touting what you are reading vs what I am experiencing. I cannot speak for Intel but I can tell you that 12+ core AM4 CPUs seem to be great at Mining. So yes a 5800X may not be feasible but when 5900X were $349 it seems kind of academic. It is not like I am losing money as the 5950X is a beast at CPU mining at 90 Watts Power draw and a 65 C Temp 24 hrs a day. If my energy costs are .08 to .18 per kwh that is about .30 a day vs $3.00 US a day. Yep that sounds pretty academic vs letting it sit in a plastic shell. As I stated before if you are like me and have plenty of PC parts it makes sense but I would not spend thousands to invest in CPU mining.

a 3990X should end up somewhere at 54KH/s. a 7950X just does 31KH/s. which would be $1.84 and $1.06 per 24h.
Right now 31 kh/s translates to $6 a day mining Monero. More cores are better but cost is a factor. The issue I am having is what they are reporting online is not what I see my Miner doing. I expect to have mined 01.00140000 since I have started by the end of December at 15000 a day to make another 330000. The price is not static though and is currently on the uptrend. I have already gained over $140 in interest.

Intel owner, to be exact. I can't compare to you in fanboyism.

No, it is not. If a processor of this class was profitable in mining, all owners of specialized hardware would mine a billion dollars a year.

P.S. After that 5900X turned into a 5600X in just two days, after you said you sold it, now I see it again. Good luck with him in mining the million dollars. You just need patience. By the year 2838, autumn, you will probably inform us that 10% of the job is completed.

Dude, seriously? You are telling me it is not true what my Bitcoin wallet is doing. Do you understand how foolish that sounds?

Yep that's right those are CPUs that are not in the PCs in the pics. They include a 3100, 5600G and 5600 You can even see the new looking sticker for the 9 series. So you can go on drinking the kool-aid that you seem to have from a one sided point of view.

5800HX/3060 laptop makes about $3 a day at 53 Watts an hour for CPU and 80 for the GPU.

5950x/6650XT/ makes about $8.50 a day with 6 coming from the CPU. CPU 87 Watts/GPU 86 Watts

5900X/6500XT/ makes about $4.50 a day using 90 Watts CPU

7900X3D/7900XT No mining here but would probably pay about $12 a day.
That's a bit unrealistic. I wasn't aware that XMR became profitable again, so I checked the numbers. 5950X would do slightly above $1, and 6650XT isn't very good at Nexapow(under 20 cents).

Heck, just a few weeks ago I've set up my 3070Ti to "warm up" one of my rooms a little while I'm away at the office, and while I get nearly exact Nicehash estimate in terms of hashrate, I've never seen profits above $0.50/day with electricity cost at $0.07(rev. at just under $1 excl. electricity was the highest in a week). It's still pretty good comparing to what we had after ETH went POS, but I highly doubt your profit numbers are even theoretically possible, even with free electricity.

I don't want to show you my Nicehash account much less my Linux mining information. the hashrate may not change but the price of crypto is very volatile. There could be a scenario that when I checked and built my rigs that was what I was getting was what was reported vs what is now.

I have looked through my data and seen that on the Week ending Dec 7, I was getting a much higher payout. It seems to be closer to what you are saying. I am right now reporting $1.52 US for my 5950X. This also is in line with the drop in the price of Bitcoin though as right now Bitcoin is below $57000 Canadian from not too shy of $60000 just last week.

I have so many modern pc in the house I randomly play with. I like low electric bills though.

Never got into mining

Just reading the first post, even as a mining amateur, you realize that it is parallel to the subject. x86 processors were not attractive even in the heyday of mining, you produced more profit if, in the same period of time, you grew onions on the balcony.
Pathetic attempt to prove "that he has" and what he has (AMD, of course) turns sand into gold.

At the optimum .08 Cents per kwh and at the least .18 Cents KWH.

I guess where you live, I have Nuclear, Water and Coal as my electric supply and .08 to .18 cents per kwh is not 133 watts in usage per hour.
I thought you lived in Ontario. We phased out coal in 2015. We also have tiered pricing which can be a better fit than time-of-use for many residential customers.

I do live in Ontario. The tier used to based on time of day. I guess that has changed though.
There is both time-of-use and tiered pricing. Perhaps you have chosen time-of-use.
