once i get my 9850, i'm going wait about 6-8 months and get a 4k card (4870) then wait a couple more months, when they start dropping like crazy and getting another one.

Wow those sure are some pretty configurations!!! Me wan't me wan't (How would you get sound if all slots are blocked? Sorry never had touched a PCI-E card) It costs alot here to have that kind of set-up and boy I bet those would knock my eyes off its socket for the gfx !!

What kind of PSU do I need if I need 4 cards like that? Bought a 3870 yesterday. If at all I install it, getting a CF board, I might buy one more card. What should be the PSU specs I should be looking at? I have a 600W Ultra SLI certified PSU. Will that be enough?

I can power my OC'd system with two cards, with a Corsair HX620W. I believe peak power is somewhere around the 710W area. So I guess the first thing to find out would be if 600W for your psu is constant or peak. It also depends on how much the rest of your system depends on the PSU.

i don't think that will be enough. and plus, if i'm right. the 3870's have a 8-pin power conntectors. And your's only has two. But you could use the the molex adapter, but you lose overdrive. And possible some performance. maybe due to lack of power.

Then I would have to say, get a bigger psu, Those phemon are power hungry and then add 4 3870's.
