Basically the title sums it up. I'm looking at a set of red Type 4 cables in Corsair packaging on eBay, and they are listed as Type 4 (Gen 3). The ones on Corsair's website are listed as Type 4, Gen 4, but don't ship to my country for some reason (New Zealand). Their compatibility chart simply says to use "Type 4" cables with the RM750x (2021). Does the Gen number matter?

likely it does cause they could changed the pinout. so best to go with what ever gen your psu is to avoid getting cables that could send power where it shouldn't go. If you have psu box look on should see a code near bar code. Search for it on corsairs website to find your psu and see what cable option's they offer with it to see what type and gen cables it says. those are ones should look for.

to add, i have RM850x from 2021 and it uses type 4 gen 4 cables.
