You did not read wrong, it's the ancient i7 870 indeed and not the 8700K.

This machine was picking up dust a while ago, and i decided to revive it, however, i noticed my previous OC saved in the BIOS.... it's not there anymore. And it has been quite some time since i touched OC in these old platforms, so being honest, i have no idea how to OC on 1156 platform anymore.

I remember it used to operate around 3.8GHz with the memory speed being the limiting factor, so i already ordered 4x4GB 1866mhz DDR3 to mitigate the memory issue, and i've seen somewhere this CPU can get into the 4GHz territory, which would be nice!

I would gently ask the ones with proper knowledge on the platform to help me overclocking this thing, thank you very much
