hello there, soon enough my brother and i will be buying new systems but we keep checking in deep info about all the parts to be certain that what we getting is good enough and 100% compatibility as much as possible.

this is the motherboard we have our eye on, but we trying to match it with the right ram.

i was looking at information, reading around and apparently its best to get ram with hynix chip instead of samsung, micron (which apparently seem to avoid for some reason)
but i noticed theres 3 variants of hynix: hynix, hynix A-die and hynix M-die.

according to what ive been reading A-die is the way to go if you intend to OC which i dont intent to do this manually, my obj is to set the profile that comes with the ram and that would be the end of it.
M is the second best, but im unsure about the just "hynix" version in this scenario.

with this being said we intend to pair the motherboard and rams with a 7800x3d processor.
so far ive been told that latency&timing of 30 is ideal, but also ive read around that from 30 to 36 wont be any difference, but ideally 30, so if i can only find 32 should be good as well.

with all this information that i had to find around, the options seems to have shortened for me so im in need to ask in here any suggestions of models and brands to consider and which to avoid, been trying to find rams for a good time of the day today, hopefully someone can help me.

amazon, newegg and microcenter are available for browsing just incase.

you already linked the memory compatibility chart for the mobo and it lists the chips

and if i can only find memories that are not listed there? would that be a problem though? because so far mostly only found rams that are not listed and with different timings

they will probably work fine as long as they are similar spec, simply not tested by Asrock to work

This isn't AM4 anymore with its pickiness over super bad B-die bins and obscure pre-2019 ICs. Hynix is either 16Gb A-die or M-die in 16/32GB sticks, or 24Gb M-die in 24/48GB sticks. Pick any decent Hynix kit that is 6000CL32 equivalent or better and you shouldn't have issues as long as you stick to a reasonable 2-stick config. Since you are limited to 6000-6400 by your memory controller anyway, it doesn't matter as much as it might on the Intel side (where you might have to fuss over DIMM heatsink coverage and good bins to shoot for 7000-8000+).

"Just Hynix" is most likely laziness on the part of whoever put the website together. So far no other Hynix (or otherwise) alternatives to A-die and M-die have surfaced, at least any that can attain the XMP timings we expect from A/M.

iirc the only outlier is 16Gb M-die which is older than the rest and probably tops out earlier than the others regarding freq. But it'll still do 6000 just fine. 24Gb M-die seems roughly analogous to 16Gb A-die in terms of what it can do.

I reviewed the B650E version of the Steel legend. Any 32Gb (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 will work from the getgo. If you want 48GB (2x24), you'll need to update the BIOS and might as well go the newest.

I would still stick within 6000-6400 range. Find one that fits your budget and your good. If you into overclocking / tweaking timings, Hynix A (2gb) and Hynix M (3Gb) will be the best. 2Gb Hynix M is still good, just requires a bit more voltage.

The aim to get 2x16 ddr5-6000 but since the ASRock site seems to be limited on what's available atm I'm having issues picking up the proper timings /models since the goal is to pick timings of 30 to 36 without having to overspend too much and getting a decent model with no regrets.

tCL above 34 is not Hynix. Anything flat timings (36-36-36) is not Hynix. Not Hynix is not worth getting unless dirt cheap.

Hynix is CL30/32 (I think maaaybe 34 if other timings are right), with looser tRCD and tRP (eg. 30-38-38). At 6000-6400 at least, timings obviously higher for higher speed kits

Been guiding me through the ASRock site memory listing pretty much, so all the rams I've been looking so far are the ones that are listed with Hynix in mind

@squallypo what's your price range and do you need RGB?
i would say max 125$ rgb or no rgb doesnt matter if it happens to have rgb great if not then not important, thanks for your help!
just dont think its ideal to go over 150$ for rams tbh, specially if im looking for 2x16 = 32gb ram total.

TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz (PC5-48000) CL30 Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD Expo Compatible Desktop Memory Module Ram Red FLRD532G6000HC30DC01 https://a.co/d/3xF39Hp

KLEVV Bolt V DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 A-DIE 1.35V Gaming Desktop Ram Memory SK Hynix Chip XMP 3.0 / AMD Expo Ready (KD5AGUA80-60A300H) https://a.co/d/3Mh4uGF

Check the AMD section of this review. Those two kits linked will roughly match that DDR5-6000 CL30 kit. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/klevv-bolt-v-ddr5-6800-32-gb-cl34/5.html

You can always go to 6400 CL32 for both those I linked, but it's $115 instead.

Or RGB DDR5-6000 Variant which is the same as what I used in the review, just mine doesn't have RGB.

Sure, but I'm really slow to reply to those and the forum folks collectively know a lot more than me.

I just found out that Team Group I linked could be either SK Hynix M or A-Die (2GB). Only matters if your going to be overclocking as M Die can't go as high and requires a little more voltage for the same timings.
