This is my 1st case mod and 1st watercooled project. My gole for this buld was to have a OC with a quiet rig.
I used a 480 SR1 and a 240 SR1 with Bitspower waterblocks with a Apogee XT cpu block. 1/2" ID 3/4 OD tubing.
The end results are great, Great OC with very little noise.
I am in the process of upgrading to 2 watercooled 480's to replace the 470's.
ive never setup a watercooling machine before but ive always wondered this: many people with a top radiator seem to place the fans above the radiator itself...wouldnt this mean that it will be pushing hot air 'into' the case rather than out of it????
you use them to pull the air from the case, through the radiator, and into the room. Fans can be set on the radiator in either direction;) Just when you pull through the rad in this instance, it leaves for a much cleaner finished product.
Superb first build man! Looks like you did your homework and the final look and performance was worth it! I checked out your log and I absolutely love it :D
Q: Is this like a carbine fiber decal? where did get it or have it done?
Yes I did alot of homework for the build and asked alot of questions.
The fans are in a pull config. blowing up, out of the case, because I like the clean look, but a mofo to mount. I could mount bottom fans as well if I wanted more air flow, push/pull config. But seeing how I used the sr1 rads.. not alot of flow is needed.
It is carbon fiber film that I bought online @ www.carbonfiberfilm.com/
It is pretty pricey and a little tricky to work with, but the look is awesome, imo. It took me a few mistakes to get it down, but not too bad.
The back panel is painted with clearneon (red) paint. It is invisible until it is under a uv light, then shows up glowing red.
jmcuThank you all for the kind words and ratings..

Dude, the cable management is sweet, the carbon fiber is slick and that uv red panel in the back is seriously one of a kind. you got me re-thinking my rig (also a obsidian 800d water cooled), as well as my hardware BUT it ain't going bad yet so I'll replace them when they die. I like the layout of the tubing man, very organized and though out. Give me a lil time to finish my mods and I'll post mine up. 9/10 man. Solid.
I voted 9/10 coz I like the fiber and how u set up ur whole system. Then I changed my mind to give u 10/10 but it's too late hehehe....NICE build. Btw where did u buy those fibers? And how much did it cost u altogether?
I bought the carbon film at www.carbonfiberfilm.com.
Takes a little pratice to get it down.
I have way to much in this system.. When I built it and with the changes I made, I had about 8k in the whole rig, of that 1200 into a u3011, 300 in the samsung and 300 into the 7" monitor.
I have made a few changes from the original pics. I wanted to get it a little cooler so I added 2- EK 240 rads in the bottom and a 92mm rad in the bay drive.
I added a revo 3 x2 that just is smokin fast.
I just got 3 680's with blocks that I am about to replace the 480's.
