Key Features:

System Specs:
  • AMD Athlon 64 4000 @ 3GHz
  • DFI LanParty RDX200 CF Motherboard (939)
  • GEIL RAM (4x512MB PC3200) [Stepped Down to get cpu at 3GHz, and doesnt seem to run in Dual Channel with 4 DIMMS]
  • Connect3D ATi Radeon X1950XT 256MB (662Core / 945[1890DDR]Memory)
  • 80GB Hitachi Deskstar 7K80 x 2 In RAID 0
  • LiteON DVD Drive, & AOpen CD-RW Drive
  • Hiper 530W Modular PSU [Black]
Performed Mods:
Cable manage ment where possible, painted the case was blue if you have seen my previous post before I upgraded (http://www.techpowerup.com/gallery/448), drives also got painted as they were an awful beige everyone hates beige lol. Blue lighting at the moment, but I'm thinking of going with red. Unfortunatly cable management is as good as I can get it at the moment... The position of the CPU on this motherboard is where RAM would normally be, making the very big Akasa EVO33 cooler close to the hard drives, and the case doesnt have much room at the front of the case despite its size.
This summer I hope to upgrade the monitor to a 20-22" LCD. Also runs very cool, havent known the CPU to go over 40DegC and its slightly overvolted too. The graphics card however is quite the oposite but its a highend X1950 series card and hot overclocked or not.

Not bad, heaps of potential. As you suggested, a bit of cable tidying will make a heap of difference (appearance wise).

I think its brill tbh. Very cool, my cpu idles at 28 deg n only just goes over 30 when playing games etc. But ill warn you the fan is very noisy, so make sure you use the fan controller supplied and use yur motherboard utility to keep its speed down. When building the machine, it kept speeding up and down as the cpu temp was going over and under the threshold as it span up untill it got cold then sped back up again and was very noisy, now its under control changing the thresholds and fan controller.

I put another amber fan in a push pull config that spins when it gets above 30, and its very good to me.

But i dont know if its any better than the 120....

7 from me because i am not a huge fan of that case. But the hardware makes up for it.

Thanks for the votes and comments peeps! Much appriciated, I know this isnt among the ellite boxes on here but its good enough.

However I am thinking of modding the side pannels with a mesh effect... Any suggestions would be great.

Also re routed some of the wiring [no pics yet], but I dont want to put too much force and tension on the wires and connectors.

Hey, is that an I-star Nitro case? I have one of those for my second rig. It's an awesome case. I often think about switching it out for my first rig, but it's such a tank in a small area.

Its a Chieftec case actually one of the Dragon type ones i think... But there are quite a few variants around, and I duno if other companies use the same design / parts and brand it differently tho.
