The FirePro 2270 was a professional graphics card by AMD, launched on January 31st, 2011. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the Cedar graphics processor, in its Cedar WS variant, the card supports DirectX 11.2. The Cedar graphics processor is a relatively small chip with a die area of only 59 mm² and 292 million transistors. It features 80 shading units, 8 texture mapping units, and 4 ROPs. AMD has paired 512 MB GDDR3 memory with the FirePro 2270, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 600 MHz, memory is running at 600 MHz. Being a single-slot card, the AMD FirePro 2270 does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 15 W maximum. Display outputs include: 1x DMS-59. FirePro 2270 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface. The card measures 170 mm in length, 69 mm in width, and features a single-slot cooling solution.
