The FirePro M5725 was a professional mobile graphics chip by ATI, launched on January 9th, 2009. Built on the 55 nm process, and based on the M96 graphics processor, in its M96 XT GL variant, the chip supports DirectX 10.1. Since FirePro M5725 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The M96 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 146 mm² and 514 million transistors. It features 320 shading units, 32 texture mapping units, and 8 ROPs. ATI has paired 512 MB GDDR3 memory with the FirePro M5725, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 675 MHz, memory is running at 800 MHz. Its power draw is rated at 35 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Rather it is intended for use in laptop/notebooks and will use the output of the host mobile device. FirePro M5725 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface.
