The Wii U GPU was a performance-segment gaming console graphics solution by AMD, launched on November 18th, 2012. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the Latte graphics processor, the device does not support DirectX. The Latte graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 146 mm² and 880 million transistors. It features 160 shading units, 16 texture mapping units, and 8 ROPs. AMD includes 2,048 MB DDR3 memory, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 550 MHz, memory is running at 800 MHz.
Its power draw is rated at 33 W maximum. The console's dimensions are 269 mm x 172 mm x 46 mm, and it features a igp cooling solution. Its price at launch was 349 US Dollars.
