The GeForce GT 740 OEM is a graphics card by NVIDIA, launched on April 14th, 2015. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the GK106S graphics processor, the card supports DirectX 12. Even though it supports DirectX 12, the feature level is only 11_0, which can be problematic with newer DirectX 12 titles. The GK106S graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 221 mm² and 2,540 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked GeForce GTX 650 Ti, which uses the same GPU but has all 768 shaders enabled, NVIDIA has disabled some shading units on the GeForce GT 740 OEM to reach the product's target shader count. It features 384 shading units, 32 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. NVIDIA has paired 1,024 MB GDDR5 memory with the GeForce GT 740 OEM, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 980 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1033 MHz, memory is running at 1253 MHz (5 Gbps effective).
Being a single-slot card, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 OEM does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 65 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. GeForce GT 740 OEM is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface.
