ASUS today announced the ROG PG259QN monitor, a 24,5" monitor featuring a blazing fast 360 Hz refresh rates paired with a 1 ms response time. Of course, driving that refresh rate means that the monitor itself only offers 1080p resolution - albeit it does so using an IPS panel. Color-accuracy isn't reported as of yet, though, so save your money, at least for now, if you're also looking at color-critical applications. But the defining purpose for this monitor is for it to be one of the best solutions for twitch gaming scenarios. According to an NVIDIA-led study, gamers with a 360 Hz monitor improved their K/D ratio by 4% compared to using a "mere" 240 Hz solution, so there's that. The addition of a G-Sync module, according to ASUS, allows the PG259QN to have the best smoothness of any gaming monitor, bar none.

The ROG PG259QN supports ASUS AURA Sync, slim bezels, tilt, pivot, height, and swivel adjustments. I/O is guaranteed by 1x DisplayPort 1.4 cable and 1x HDMI 2.0 port, alongside 1x 3.5 mm headset jack and 1x USB 3.0 pass-through port, as well. No word on pricing at time of writing.

Display specialist AOC adds four new curved displays to its much-praised G2 gaming series. These monitors include the 60.5 cm (23.8") models C24G2AE and C24G2U as well as the 68.6 cm (27") models C27G2AE and C27G2U. All of them employ a Full HD VA panel with an aggressive 1500R curvature, AMD FreeSync Premium support, 165 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms MPRT response time and built-in speakers (2x2 W). The "AE" models are suitable for gamers looking for an affordable, no-frills version with tiltable stands, while the "U" models include a height-adjustable stand and a USB 3.2 hub with four USB ports for increased ergonomics and flexibility.

ASUS today has added another monitor to their TUF lineup. The TUF Gaming VG27VQ monitor features a fast 27" VA panel ticking at 165 Hz refresh rates and 1 ms response time. The panel features a 1500R curvature so as to keep the edges of the panel at the same distance from your eyes as the center of it, which aids in immersion. Brightness stands at a respectable 400 nits (without VESA HDR 400 labeling), contrast ratio is set at 3000:1, and viewing angles are strong at 178º.

Technology-wise, the monitor packs ASUS' Extreme Low Motion Blur; ShadowBoost, which brightens dark scenes; flicker-free tech; as well as blue light filtering, should you so choose. I/O-wise, the monitor offers 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x DVI-D, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack. A pair of 2 W speakers is also included. The stand is adjustable via -5 to 26° tilt, -90 to 90° swivel and 120 mm height adjustment, and the monitor includes a standard VESA mount. No word on pricing at time of writing.

LG is preparing to launch its latest addition to the gaming lineup of panels and this time it goes big. Preparing to launch this month is LG's 48-inch OLED Gaming TV with 120 HZ refreshing and G-SYNC support. To round up the impressive feature set, LG has priced this panel at $1499, which is a pricey but a tempting buy. Featuring 1 ms response time and low input lag, the 48CX TV is designed for gaming and fits into NVIDIA's Big Format Gaming Display (BFGD) philosophy. Interestingly, the TV uses LG's a9 Gen3 AI processor which does content upscaling so everything can look nice and crisp. Ai is used to "authentically upscale lower resolution content, translating the source to 4K's 8.3+ million pixels. The technology is so good, you might mistake non-4K for true 4K".

LG today launched their new 38WN95C-W monitor, right alongside a more barebones offering (38WN95C-G) and a gaming-oriented cousin, the 38WN95C-B. Differences are small between the three, so we'll get into the nitty-gritty with the 38WN95C-W. This monitor features a 38" Nano IPS panel with a quoted 1 ms response time, which offers what LG calls QHD+ (3840 x 1600) resolution and an up to 170 Hz refresh rate (via overclocking through the monitor's own OSD; the original, non-overclocked refresh rate stands at a still very respectable 144 Hz). The monitor supports Active-Sync technologies in the form of AMD's FreeSync and NVIDIA's G-Sync via the now ubiquitous "G-Sync Compatible" program, albeit with a VRR range set between 48 Hz and 144 Hz) with LFC (Low Framerate Compensation). There's a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification (activated in lieu of the typical 450 cd/m² brightness) and 98% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage.

The monitor offers tilt and height adjustment, a 100mm VESA mount, and I/O is taken care of by 1x Thunderbolt 3 (high speed USB-C with DP Alt mode and PD), 1x DP 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, 2x USB 3.0 ports (plus upstream), and 1x 3.5 mm headphone jack (besides the usual 2x 2 W speakers). The 'G' model lacks the Thunderbolt 3 port and additional HDMI 2.0 port of this model. The 38WN95C-G's only difference to this monitor is the lack of the ThunderBolt port and only 1x HDMI 2.0. The gaming-centric version, the 38WN95C-B, further cuts the built-in speakers - but offers an RGB ring for added bling. The LG 38WN95C-W is already available for pre-order with prices starting at $1,599.

In the times of growing need for monitors with bigger size, improved connectivity and image quality, display specialist AOC announces the new P2 series monitors for professional users. Covering an extensive range of display sizes from 21.5" (54.7 cm), 23.8" (60.4 cm), 27" (68.6 cm) and ultra-wide 34" (86 cm), AOC acknowledges its users' distinct needs and individual setups. Except for the 34" ultrawide CU34P2A with its curved (1500R) VA panel, all other models are equipped with flat IPS panels. They ensure true-to-life colour reproduction, wide gamut coverage, and wide viewing angles (178/178°) perfectly suited for content creation and editing. Selected models (24P2C and 27P2C) with USB-C port provide an easier display, data and power connection to mobile devices with a single USB-C cable. Acer is slowly rolling out its new monitors at some Chinese retailers and today we get to see their specifications. The two monitors in question are named XZ270X and XZ320QX respectively. The XZ270X is a 27-inch curved model with 1500R curvature applied, while its bigger brother XZ320QX has a 32-inch panel with 1800R curvature. Both models rock a 1920x1080p VA-type panel with a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The VA panels in question are a new breed from CSOT and they feature 4000:1 contrast ratio.

The panels are advertised with 1 ms response time and 250 nits brightness. Both monitors offer 178-degree viewing angles and the ability to represent 16.7 million colors with sRGB (72% NTSC) color gamut. For I/O, Acer has equipped these monitors with one DisplayPort, one 3.5 mm audio jack, and two HDMI connectors. There are two 2 W stereo speakers as well. The Chinese retailer lists the 27-inch model for roughly $310 and the 32-inch model for around $420.

ViewSonic Corporation, a leading global provider of visual solutions, today announced worldwide availability of 27-inch Elite performance-driven gaming monitors including the XG270QC, a curved screen with native QHD resolution, the XG270QG an IPS Nano color display with a 2560x1440 (QHD) resolution, and the XG270, a G-SYNC compatible display with certified blur reduction options.

EVE Distribution, the company that's already crowd-sourced the Microsoft Surface-rival Eve Hybrid, which launched to very positive feedback from the tech community (even with the incredible delays in shipping and distributing the purchased Eve Hybrids, though the company now says they've rebuilt their logistics and distribution mechanisms. Now, the company is eyeing next-generation gaming with its Spectrum monitor lineup, which aim to be both PC-centric and console-centric gaming monitors.

The three monitor models all share LG as a panel source (specifically, the same panel used in the LG UltraGear 27GL850. All of them also share the same IPS technology with 1 ms response times, 98% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB coverage, as well as the same 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Freesync Premium (from 48 Hz VRR support through to the maximum refresh rate of every monitor) and G-Sync Compatible support is standard on all monitors. Differences start to appear when looking at maximum resolution, brightness and refresh rates.

Display specialist AOC announces the launch of five new Full HD monitors: three curved (C27G2ZU, C27G2ZE and C32G2ZE) and two flat models (24G2ZU, 24G2ZE) that competitive gamers have been longing for.

The new monitors range from 23.8" (60.4 cm) and 27" (68.6 cm) up to 31.5" (80 cm) and offer breathtaking specifications: a 240 Hz refresh rate and just 0.5 ms (1 ms for the 31.5" version) MPRT create an incredibly "connected" feel to the game world. All models additionally come equipped with FreeSync Premium with LFC (Low Framerate Compensation) support, providing smooth game visuals without tearing or stuttering.

MSI today announced two new diagonally-different additions to its monitor lineup. Under the Optix branding, the Optix G241 and G271 monitors both feature a 1080p IPS panel ticking at 144 Hz refresh rates. 1 ms response time is featured in both monitors, as is support for AMD's FreeSync. Where both panels differ is in the color space they're offering: the 27" G271 offers a slightly narrower 92% DCI-P3 coverage (94% on the G241). Viewing angles (178º), maximum brightness (250 cd m²) and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio are equal between both monitors.

I/O-wise, we're looking at 2x HDMI 1.4b, 1x DisplayPort 1.2a, and 1x audio out. The Optix G271 is available starting from a very interesting $239, while the G241 is available for $189.99.

HP today announced the Omen 27i monitor, which promises to deliver a well-rounded amount of features for a not bank-breaking price. The Omen 27i packs a 27" panel (as the name implies) of the Nano IPS type. HP says this means the panel covers a wider color gamut (the company claims a 98% DCI-P3 coverage. This Nano IPS panel is able to achieve 165 Hz refresh rates with a 1 ms response time. That, paired with Adaptive Sync (HP markets it simply as G-Sync compatible), means this is a pretty well-rounded gaming monitor. The 1000:1 contrast ratio, while not particularly impressive, isn't all that bad either. A maximum brightness set at 350 nits, however, means you can lay your HDR dreams to rest.

I/O-wise, we're looking at 1x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x USB 3.0 (upstream) and 1x USB 3.0 (downstream). There's an RGB-lighting diamond on the back of the unit, providing you with some amount of bling. The Omen 27i will be available for $499.

MSI today announced the imminent release of their Optix G275C gaming monitor. This is a 27" affair packing a Samsung-manufactured VA panel, offering a 1080p resolution and a maximum 165 Hz refresh rates. For snappy, responsive gaming, this refresh rate is backed by a 1 ms response time, as well as support for AMD's FreeSync technology (which should also be compatible with NVIDIA cards through their G-Sync Compatible support). Maximum brightness is low - 250 nits, contrast ratio stands at 3000:1, and there's 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 (which increases to 113% in sRGB terms). The monitor also features an aggressive 1500R curvature.

There's 178º viewing angles, and I/O is taken care of by 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI and 1x audio out. Quality of life adjustments include only -5 to 20 ° tilt adjustments and a narrow frame design with 3 sides that suppresses the top / right / left bezel width. There's also support for MSI's Anti-Flicker & Less Blue Light technologies. Pricing wasn't announced, but expect it to be priced higher than the Optix G27C4, which can currently be had for $340.

LG introduced the UltraGear 34GN850-B, a 34-inch, 21:9, curved, ultra-wide gaming monitor, a revision of the UltraGear 34GN850, denoted by the "-B" in the model name. The monitor uses a Nano-IPS panel by LG Display, which offers UWQHD (3440 x 1440 pixels) resolution. The panel offers 144 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms (GTG) response time, and support for a constellation of proprietary features: AMD FreeSync 2 Premium, NVIDIA G-SYNC (compatible), HDR10, DisplayHDR 400.

The UltraGear 34GN850-B offers coverage of 98% of DCI-P3 color gamut, 10 bpc (1.07 billion colors), and feature such as Dynamic Action Sync (lag reduction), Black Stabilizer (improves visibility in dark areas of the scene), and overlay crosshair. Other specs include 178°/178° viewing-angles, 1,000:1 static- and dynamic mega-contrast ratios; and 400 cd/m² maximum brightness. Non-display features include a 2-port USB 3.0 hub, a headset stand, and VESA wall-mounts. Display inputs include two HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort. It is available from late-April at an unknown price, although the original 34GN850 can be found around $900 in some places.

ASUS today rolled out the TUF Gaming VG279Q1R, a fast 27-inch gaming monitor. If you're willing to overlook its Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, on offer is an IPS panel with 144 Hz refresh-rate, 1 ms MPRT response time, ELMB (extreme low motion blur), and AMD FreeSync Premium support. ASUS offers most of its gamer-specific innovations such as GamePlus (hardware crosshairs, FPS counter, timer, multi-display alignment); and GameVisual (game genre-specific display presets). Display inputs include a DisplayPort 1.2a, and two HDMI 1.4a. The stand offers basic tilt adjustments, and can be detached to reveal a VESA wall mount. We expect a $250 price.

Japanese monitor maker iiyama has recently unveiled the GB3461WQSU Red Eagle gaming monitor. The GB3461WQSU ticks all the boxes with a 3440x1440 resolution, 144hz refresh rate, IPS panel, 1 ms MPRT, and AMD Freesync support. The panel has 100% coverage of the sRGB color range, 74% of the NTSC one and a typical brightness of 350cd/m² along with a 1000:1 contrast ratio.

The included adjustable stand allows for height (130 mm), tilt (-3° - 22°) and swivel (45° in both directions) control but can also be removed for usage with a (100 x 100 mm) VESA mount. The monitor is equipped with two HDMI and two DisplayPort inputs along with two USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. . The monitor measures (W x H x D) 817 x 415 x 230 mm and weighs 9.7 kg. Pricing hasn't been announced by iiyama but a Dutch retailer has the monitor listed for €479 ($524 USD), with availability from next week.

ASUS has just announced two new IPS Full-HD monitors in 24" and 27" sizes, the VZ249HEG1R and VZ279HEG1R. These two new gaming monitors both feature refresh rates of 75Hz, a luminance of 250 cd/m², a contrast ratio of 1,000: 1, and a 1 ms response time. Input is barebones with only a single HDMI port and a D-Sub connector.

The stands are VESA compatible with 75 x 75 mm mounting options and can tilt -5 to 22 °. Pricing and availability have not been announced.

LG today introduced their UltraGear 27GN750 monitor, which aims to bring high-speed, fluid gaming to a relatively low price-point. The 27GN750 is a flat monitor with a 27" diagonal, featuring an IPS panel and 1080p resolution. The gaming chops on this monitor are very much increased by the fact that it features a 240 Hz refresh rate with 1 ms response time. LG also touts VRR support in the form of G-SYNC Compatible certification (which means it employs VRR much like AMD first did through VRR instead of having to employ a dedicated module).

LG says this display is HDR compatible, but make no mistake, it's the lowest form supported (400 nits typical brightness with 320 nits as minimum according to LG), so that compatibility is... Arguable, to say the least. There's no VESA HDR 400 badge for a reason. Color reproduction is rated at 99% sRGB coverage (typical for an IPS panel). Connectivity-wise, we're looking at 1x DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, 1x USB 3.0 (upstream), 2x USB 3.0 (downstream) and 1x Headphone. LG quotes a Tilt / Height / Pivot Adjustable Stand. The LG UltraGear 27GN750 monitor is available for $399.
