LG Readies EA93 and EA83 Widescreen IPS LED Monitors

IPS panel major LG is readying a pair of new widescreen, high-resolution monitors for launch at IFA Berlin, the EA93 and EA83. The two incorporate LG's IPS LCD panels with LED illumination. The EA93 is a 29-inch ultra-widescreen monitor featuring a 21:9 aspect-ratio, with 2560 x 1080 pixels native resolution. The 27-inch EA83, on the other hand, features a more conventional 16:9 aspect-ratio, with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.

The EA93 is designed to support 4-way split screen, taking inputs from four different connectors: dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI, and MHL. The EA83 supports dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI, and offers 99 percent coverage of Adobe RGB palette. The EA93 and EA83 are slated for market-launch in November.

AOC Introduces the e2752Vh 27-Inch Monitor

AOC, the leader in monitor display technology, announces the retail availability of the 52 Series, the largest screened offering in the company's line of ultra-thin, energy efficient LED monitors. The 27-inch widescreen e2752Vh delivers stunningly crisp and impressive image quality, as well as solid performance with a two millisecond response time. ASUS VG278HE Monitor Packs 144 Hz Panel

ASUS announced its newest 27-inch 3D desktop monitor, the VG278HE, which packs an LED-backlit LCD panel capable of 144 Hz refresh rate, which adds 24 frames per second to 120 Hz display output, making 3D gaming look even more fluid. The VG278HE makes use of a TN-film panel, with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, and 2 ms (GTG) response time. It supports NVIDIA's 3D Vision 2 (kit to be purchased separately). Display inputs include dual-link DVI (dual-link needed for such high refresh-rate, even at 1080p resolution), D-Sub, and HDMI (lower refresh rates with single TMDS link). 6W stereo speakers make for the rest of it. ASUS did not announce pricing or availability.

Mitsubishi Intros 27-inch DiamondCrysta Wide IPS LCD Monitor

Mitsubishi made an addition to its DiamondCrysta Wide series with the RDT272WX-BK, a 27-inch widescreen LCD monitor. It utilizes an IPS LCD panel with 1920x1080 pixels resolution, 3.5 ms response time, 178°/178° H/V viewing angles, 8,000:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m² brightness, and panel power consumption of 39W. Display inputs include TV, 2x HDMI, 1x DVI, and 1x D-Sub. 6W stereo speakers are included. Measuring 643 x 230 x 444 mm (WxDxH), the RDT272WX-BK weighs about 6.6 kg. It is slated for mid-June.

HP Announces Ivy Bridge Desktop Line-Up

Acer has this week announced the European release of its HN274HBbmiiid 3D monitor featuring support for NVIDIA's 3D LightBoost technology. HP Z1 Workstation Now Shipping Worldwide

Acer has this week added a new monitor to its portfolio, the V273HL model featuring a 27-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) TN panel, LED backlighting, and a (dynamic) contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1. Acer's display also has 170/160 degree viewing angles, a 5 ms response time, a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2, two 1 W built-in speakers, and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI inputs.

I-O Data Announces New, 27-inch Monitor with a VA Panel

I-O Data's monitor offering will soon be expanded through the release of the LCD-MF274XVBR, a 27-inch widescreen featuring LED backlighting and a VA (Vertical Alignment) panel offering 178/178 degree viewing angles.

The new monitor also has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 300 cd/m2 maximum brightness, a 5,000:1 contrast ratio (80,000:1 DCR), a 12 ms response time (7 ms when overdrive is activated), two 1.5 W built-in speakers, Renesas' Neo Clear Resolution single-frame ultra-high-resolution technology, D-Sub, DVI, dual HDMI ports, an ECO mode, and a stand allowing for height, tilt and swivel adjustment.

The LCD-MF274XVBR is backed by a three-year warranty and will go on sale at the end of this month at about $442.

Based on the Sandy Bridge and Sandy Bridge-E platforms, the MDV Advanced is available in two models. The MDV-ASQ8310B-WS-P27LP is driven by Intel Core i7-2700K processor, with 8 GB (2x 4 GB) memory, based on a Z68 chipset motherboard. Graphics is handled by Quadro 600 The storage subsystem consists of a 1 TB hard drive and DVD SuperMulti drive.

The MDV-ASG9300B-WS-P27LP is the more expensive model, driven by Intel Core i7-3930K six-core processor, X79 chipset motherboard, and 16 GB (4x 4 GB) memory. Graphics is driven by Quadro 2000D. The storage subsystem is carried on from the other model. Buyers can opt for better storage at a premium. Both models are driven by Windows 7 Home Premium x64 OS. The pricing of MDV-ASQ8310B-WS-P27LP starts at 169,890 JPY (US $2150), while the MDV-ASG9300B-WS-P27LP starts at 239,820 JPY (US $3032).
