Cooler Master PSU Grand Tour: V Gold V2, V Bronze, MWE Gold V2, and MWE White V2

We dedicated an article to the mighty impressive SFX Gold series that come in output models of up to 850 W. Here's the rest of Cooler Master's equally impressive new PSU lineup in conventional ATX form-factor. To begin with, the new V Gold V2 series is a refresh of the original V Gold series, and comes in a new all-white trim. Across the lineup that includes 550 W, 650 W, 750 W, and 850 W models, you get two 8-pin EPS power connectors. Cooler master also worked to reduce ripple noise output by adding in-line capacitors within connectors. Available from Q2-2020, the 550 W, 650 W, 750 W, and 850 W models are priced at $89.99, $99.99, $109.99, and $119.99, respectively.

Next up, is the company's new V Bronze line of mainstream PSUs that come in 550 W, 650 W, and 750 W models replacing the original MWE Bronze series, offer fixed cabling, but all cables barring the 24-pin ATX are flat, ribbon-type, and black. to help with airflow and aesthetics, respectively. The 80 Plus Bronze-rated PSUs are cooled by 120 mm fluid-dynamic bearing fans, and are backed by 5-year product warranties. Available from Q3-2020, the 550 W, 650 W, and 750 W models are priced at $69, $79.99, and $89.99, respectively.

EVGA Announces the SuperNOVA G3 Power Supplies

EVGA has announced today the evolution of their highly-regarded SuperNOVA G2 - the aptly named SuperNOVA G3. EVGA Launches the SuperNOVA 850/750 G2 Power Supplies

EVGA has today formally announced two new SuperNOVA Series power supplies, the 850 G2 and 750 G2. These 850 W and 750 W units are 80 PLUS Gold certified and feature a fully modular design, a 140 mm Double Ball Bearing fan backed by ECO Intelligent Thermal Control (for zero fan noise during low load operations), a single, high amperage 12 V rail, and built-in Over Power/Under Power/Over Voltage/Short Circuit protection.

The SuperNOVA 850 G2 and 750 G2 are backed by a 10-year warranty (after registering with EVGA) and are priced at $159.99 and $129.99, respectively. Unfortunately the PSUs are not yet available for purchase.

XFX to Enter Power Supply Market with 850 W Black Edition

Manufacturers branching out in to different segments seems to be the in thing to do at the moment and XFX is no exception as leaked slides on the forums of Legit Reviews, reveal that XFX are getting ready to announce their first power supply line at Computex Taipei 2009 next month. The first of which has been dubbed the 850 W Black Edition (XPS-850W-BES), which follows suit of many of their Black Edition graphics cards. It is a modular PSU featuring 88% effeciency and sports a 70A single 12v rail capped at 840 W. It would seem XFX are taking this seriously as the combined output across all of the wattage caps is in excess of 1,000 W. According to the slides the PSU features 105°C Japanese brand capacitors, +/-3% voltage regulation, solid polymer caps, and a 135mm ball bearing fan. Using a combination of fixed and removable cables the XFX 850 W Black Edition has 4 PCI-E 6+2 Pin connectors, 11 SATA connectors and 8 Molex connectors.
