be quiet! at Computex 2023: New Shadow Base Series, Dark Base 901/701, and Straight Power 12 PSU

be quiet!, a German company focusing on creating PC components and accessories, had a strong presence at Computex 2023. Showing off its cases and power supplies, the company introduced a few additions to its portfolio of offerings. For starters, be quiet! has introduced a new case series called Shadow Base. The new Shadow Base lineup is focused on maximum airflow and maximum performance, where the company has made a new open mesh design that allows for "exceptionally high airflow." Inaugurating model of the series is the Shadow Base 800, which comes in three flavors: standard, DX, and FX. The standard edition is just a regular case without flashy RGB; the DX model has an RGB strip, while the FX model is tailored for maximum RGB illumination across the case. With up to E-ATX motherboard support, the case supports three or four 140 mm fans, depending on the variant. You can see the specification sheet below.

Cooler Master Unveils New MasterLiquid AiO Coolers at Computex

Cooler Master had plenty to show at the Computex 2023 event, including a pair of new MasterLiquid AiO coolers that should eventually find its way to retail/e-tail shelves, the MasterLiquid 360 Ion and the MasterLiquid 360 Atmos. Cooler Master is also looking into some new markets with its open-loop cooling system concept design.

The MasterLiquid 360 Ion is obviously the star of the show as Cooler Master was proud to display it alongside its X Silent Max PSU, and this one comes with a 2.1-inch LCD screen on the dual-chamber pump that can display pretty much anything. The 360 mm radiator comes with Cooler Master's Mobius 120P ARGB fans, and Cooler Master also included RGB light strip around the pump. The MasterLiquid 360 Atmos is also an interesting upcoming product and while it does not feature an LCD screen, it comes with customizable pump cover that can be 3D printed. It features three SickleFlow Edge ARGB fans that promises exceptional performance and low noise levels. Unfortunately, there is also no word on the availability or the price of the new MasterLiquid AiO coolers. Cooler Master also showcased its open-loop concept cooling components including fittings, radiator, pump, tubes, as well as GPU and CPU water blocks, which could be something that Cooler Master could get into eventually.

Cougar Expands its Gaming Chair Lineup with New Additions at Computex

Cougar introduced several new gaming chair models at Computex 2023 including the Hotrod, NxSys Aero and Armor EVO. The NxSys Aero has been getting plenty of attention from attendees due to its mounted 200 mm aRGB cooling fan - this is positioned to provide cooling for the sweatiest of rears torsos. The advanced integrated cooling solution is apparently a first for the gaming chair market - Cougar thinks that this is a game changer - a power bank provides the necessary juice to run the fan and lighting system from a discreetly placed perch. The NxSys Aero features an innovative elastomeric mesh and ventilated back cover ensuring an airy yet cushioned seating experience. A physiotherapy-grade lumbar pillow and magnetic head cushion complete the package.

The Hotrod is a "motorsports-inspired" gaming chair designed to react to the intense maneuvers of fast-paced action. Cougar has studied real world racing seat in order to figure out the right balance of flexibility and resistance to body movements. The Hotrod's structure is formed out of synthetic PA fiberglass-reinforced plastic, yet the chair offers a high level of comfort thanks to multi-density cushioning along its backrest. An integrated height-adjustable head cushion adds comfy support for necks and heads - it is ergonomically engineered to prevent whiplash resulting from the most serious of high-octane gaming situations.

Lian Li Presents GALAHAD II TRINITY AIOs and UNI FANs

Lian Li also presented a new portfolio of liquid cooling all-in-one (AIO) solutions and new fans. Called the GALAHAD II TRINITY series, it includes three models: the GALAHAD II TRINITY, GALAHAD II TRINITY SL INF, and GALAHAD II TRINITY PERFORMANCE. The TRINITY series features three interchangeable caps for pump block personalization and 45-degree rotating fittings at the radiator for convenient tube positioning. The GALAHAD II TRINITY model is available in 240 and 360 sizes and comes equipped with pre-installed RGB fans with flawless cable connectivity. The GALAHAD II TRINITY SL-INF model, also available in 240 and 360 sizes, comes with pre-fitted UNI FAN SL INFINITY fans and a controller. Lastly, the GALAHAD PERFORMANCE model, available in a 360 size, features pre-installed 28 mm thick high-performance LCP fans with seamless cable integration, a 32 mm thick radiator with a unique double wave fin design, and a 4200RPM pump. It is set to launch in June.

In addition, there is a GALAHAD II LCD AIO. This 280/360 AIO features a 2.88" LCD screen at the top of the pump, with a display resolution of 480x480. Two aluminium caps, complete with edge-diffused LED lighting, adorn the pump's sides. The LCD supports MP4 files, customizable layers, and screen capturing, with the added capability of a split-screen function. With 2 GB of flash memory, it allows for MP4 uploading of up to three minutes in length.

GELID at Computex 2023: New Stella and Silent Series Fans, TIMs, Company's First AIO Lineup

GELID at the 2023 Computex showcased its most recent product announcements. The lineup begins with the Stella Infinity, Stella Frost, and Zodiac case fans in the 120 mm form-factor. The Stella Infinity gets its name from an infinity mirror on its impeller hub. The fan features as many as 24 ARGB LEDs, lined not just along the bore of the frame, but also the hub of the impeller. It turns at speeds ranging between 500 to 1,600 RPM, pushing up to 70 CFM of airflow, at up to 35 dBA noise output. It uses hydro-dynamic bearings. The Stella Frost is essentially the same fan, but with a white frame, translucent impeller, and the outer ARGB diffuser being made of acrylic that mimics the appearance of ice. The Zodiac is a more cost-effective case fan that covers the essentials, including the hydro-dynamic bearing, one set of ARGB LEDs (at the impeller hub), high static pressure, 700 to 1600 RPM, pushing up to 65.5 CFM of airflow, 1.47 mm H₂O static pressure, and 35 dBA maximum noise.

We now move on to the Silent 12 PWM Black and Silent 14 PWM Black. These fans feature vibration-absorbing fan mounts, an impeller profile optimized for low noise, with fairly high performance. The Silent 14 PWM Black (140 mm) does 750 to 1,500 RPM, pushing up to 78.5 CFM of airflow, at a maximum noise output of just 20 dBA. The Silent 12 PWM Black (120 mm) does 750 to 1,600 RPM, pushing up to 64.5 CFM of airflow, at a maximum noise output of 25.5 dBA. There's a cheaper variant of these fans, the Silent 12 Black and Silent 14 Black, which use 3-pin DC power inputs. GELID showed off an assortment of products, including the GC-4 thermal compound, and its more powerful GC-Extreme TIM that offers 8.5 W/mK conductivity; the LGA1700 CPU Protection Brace, IceCap and IceCap Pro M.2 NVMe SSD coolers, Nexus Premium headset stand, and IceRock DDR memory heatspreaders. The star attraction was GELID's first foray into liquid cooling, with the Liquid 360, Liquid 240, and Liquid 120 all-in-one closed, loop CPU coolers. These feature Zodiac fans, a pump-block with an infinity mirror, and a 7-segment display that reads out coolant temperature.

Thermalright Intros Frozen Prism White Series AIO Liquid CPU Coolers

Air-based CPU cooling maestros Thermalright are expanding their liquid-based cooler portfolio with the addition of two white color-schemed coolers under the Frozen Prism White series. These include two models based on the radiator size—the Frozen Prism White 360, and the Frozen Prism White 240. Their design sees white cover everything from the radiator frames, to the radiator fins, the fiber sleeving of the coolant tubes, the included fans, their frames and impellers; and of course the pump-block itself.

An illuminated ARGB ornament on top of the pump-block; and the illuminated fans, make up their lighting setup. These use standard 3-pin ARGB headers. Each of the included TL-E12W-S V2 fans turns at speeds of up to 1,850 RPM, pushing up to 70.4 CFM of airflow, at 2.64 mm H₂O static pressure. Among the CPU socket types supported by the Frozen Prism series are Intel Socket LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA2066, and LGA115x; and AMD Socket AM5 and AM4. The company didn't reveal pricing.

The mid-tower is equipped with three 120 mm ARGB fans in the front as well as one in the rear and is now available at a very affordable price of € 99.99 (recommended retail price including VAT).

The new AX series from Antec offers a large selection of gaming cases with LED lighting and eye-catching front panel designs - all at an affordable price. The new AX90 case has a side panel made of tempered glass and puts the built-in components in the limelight. Diamond-shaped frames in a mesh front panel create not only a visual highlight but also allow for excellent airflow.

PowerColor Launches Radeon RX 7900 XTX Liquid Devil Flagship Graphics Card

PowerColor on Wednesday formally launched its flagship graphics card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX Liquid Devil. Designed for enthusiasts with DIY liquid-cooling setups, the Liquid Devil is essentially an RX 7900 XTX Red Devil, but with a factory-fitted full-coverage water block instead of the massive air cooler. The block has been made by EK Water Blocks, and consists of a nickel-plated copper main material, with a clear-acrylic top, and some vinyl decals. The top is studded with ARGB LEDs. The block lacks fittings, but has G 1/4" threading, and PowerColor has included goodies such as an EK-Loop Leak Tester Flex kit (lets you check for coolant leaks).

The PowerColor RX 7900 XTX has an ace up its sleeves that positions it above the Red Devil OC—the "Unleash" BIOS. The card has a dual-BIOS setup, with the default BIOS being labeled "OC" and the other one being "Unleash." OC enables speeds comparable to the Red Devil OC—2395 MHz game and 2565 MHz boost (vs. 2269 MHz game and 2499 MHz boost AMD reference speeds). PowerColor is yet to spell out the clock speeds of the "Unleash" BIOS, but we're hearing that it will be even higher (possibly the highest factory OC for the RX 7900 XTX), along with increased power-limits. The PowerColor RX 7900 XTX Liquid Devil should be available from mid-February, 2023.

Bitspower Intros Nebula VGA Radeon RX 7900 XTX Full-coverage Water-block

Bitspower today introduced the Nebula VGA full-coverage water-block for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX reference-design graphics card (model: BP-VG7900XTXRD). The block uses nickel-plated copper as its main material, and comes with a clear-acrylic top that's studded with addressable-RGB LEDs. It also includes a metal backplate. The block features a mirror-finish contact area for the GPU, and comes with thermal-pads for the card's twelve GDDR6 memory chips, and its VRM areas. The lighting setup takes in a common 3-pin ARGB connection. The block itself comes with industry-standard G1/4" threads for fittings. The block measures 270 mm x135.5 mm x 30.7 mm. Up for pre-order, the Nebula RX 7900 XTX FC-block is priced at the equivalent of USD $250.

Cooler Master New Case Fans at 2023 CES: MasterFan Halo2 and Mobius Series

Cooler Master at the 2023 International CES introduced several new case fans for various use-cases—case ventilation, air-heatsinks, and liquid-cooling radiators. The MasterFan Halo2 is the brightest and most striking of these, and the company is including them with some of their latest Hyper-series CPU coolers. They will be sold in standalone kits, too. The Halo2 gets its name from its two ARGB LED lighting zones—one along the bore of the frame, and the other inside the impeller hub. There are a couple of upgrades of the original MasterFan Halo series from 2020, including enlarged fan blades, a redesigned hybrid frame structure that minimizes frame footprint without sacrificing the fan's axial airflow; and updated motor driver IC. The MF Halo2 comes in 120 mm and 140 mm sizes; and in black- and white color trims. Both sizes feature rifle bearings that are rated for over 160,000 hours of operation.

The MasterFan MF140 Halo2 features up to 1,600 RPM of speed, up to 58.5 CFM airflow, at up to 2.53 mm H₂O static pressure, and up to 27 dBA noise output. The MF120 Halo2 turns at speeds of up to 2,050 RPM, pushing up to 51.88 CFM of airflow, at up to 2.89 mm H₂O static pressure, and up to 27 dBA noise output. The fans take 4-pin PWM for their main function, and 3-pin Gen 2 ARGB for both their lighting zones.

Cooler Master MasterLiquid Atmos AIO Liquid CPU Cooler Features User-replaceable Block Covers

At the 2023 International CES, Cooler Master showed off a unique all-in-one liquid closed-loop CPU cooler that features user-replaceable pump-block covers, the MasterLiquid Atmos. The top cover of the pump-block comes off, so you can replace it with something with a different shape or color. Examples of these covers include a frosty-white cover made of recycled plastic resin, or a tinted acrylic diffuser. Underneath is a white silicone diffuser for an ARGB lighting element. The lighting extends to the included Cooler Master Sickleflow ARGB fans.

The MasterLiquid Atmos model shown at CES was the ML360 Atmos, featuring a 360 mm x 120 mm radiator with a trio of Sickleflow ARGB fans. These fans come pre-installed on the radiator, to minimize packaging waste. The ML360 Atmos uses a dual-chamber pump-block, which features CM's Gen 2 ARGB lighting. The company didn't go into the technical details of the fan, but mentioned its top speed to be 2,400 RPM. The MasterLiquid Atmos series comes in two variants, 240 mm and 360 mm. Among the CPU socket types supported are LGA1700, LGA1200, AM5, and AM4.

Lian Li Announces Uni Fan SL Infinity 140: Bigger and More Hypnotic

LIAN LI Industrial Co. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of chassis and PC accessories, adds the 140 mm format to the UNI FAN SL INFINITY series. The SL INFINITY 140 offers the same limitless lighting style with an infinity mirror at the front and sides, and thin angular RGB strips at the front and rear. The SL INFINITY 140 delivers much-improved airflow with a maximum of 72.7 CFM, 2.88 mm H2O of air pressure; noise levels reaching only 28 dBA while running at 1600 RPM, or completely inaudible at 0 RPM with the Start/Stop function in L-Connect 3. The SL INFINITY 140 is fully compatible with the SL INFINITY controller hub, giving users the flexibility of using different combinations of daisy-chained clusters of 120 mm or 140 mm fans in their build. Similar to the 120, it comes equipped with the improved connecting mechanism of removable interlocking keys and a multidirectional power module cable.

The SL INFINITY 140 features 40 LEDs which are dispersed perfectly to provide continuous lighting at the fan blades and around the LIAN LI medallion in the back. The front fan axis offers a glimpse into the first infinity mirror ring which has been carefully designed to create a deep, hypnotic infinity effect with 0.5 mm between each layer of light. The second infinity mirror is surrounded by an aluminium trim located on both sides of the frame. With the L-Connect 3, users can decide between preset light effects or combine center and side light strips for a customized look.

Iceberg Thermal Gives Competitors the Chills at 2023 International CES

A relatively new entrant to the PC cooling space, Iceberg Thermal had its first major in-person outing at CES, with the exhibition of several of its newest CPU coolers, purpose-built heatsinks, case fans, and thermal pastes. To begin with, the company showed off its IceGale Xtra, IceGale ARGB, and IceGale Silent case fans. The IceGale Xtra comes in 80 mm, 120 mm, and 140 mm sizes, and in color options of icy-blue, gray, and black. These fans lack illumination, but offer a solid combination of high RPM range and dual-ball bearings. The IceGale ARGB fans are essentially the same, but come only in 120 mm and 140 mm sizes, and only in icy-blue and black frame options. These ones feature addressable RGB LEDs in the fan impeller hub, with the frost-finish impeller blades diffusing the light. The IceGale Silent series is a line of entry-level case fans that come in 120 mm size and black trim, with sleeve bearings. The fan is claimed to offer a noise output of just 12.3 dBA.

The FuzeIce thermal interface material ships in flattened piston syringes that double up as applicators. This is an electrically non-conductive TIM that offers thermal conductivity of 11.25 W/mK, 56,000 poise viscosity, and 2.6 g/cm³ density. It comes in 3.5 g and 7 g syringes. Iceberg Thermal also showed off a wide range of custom-design heatsinks that are purpose-built for a wide range of cooling needs. These are not sold to customers in the retail channel, but the company is looking to become an OEM for purpose-built air-cooling solutions. Moving on to the good stuff, and we see the company show off a trio of its IceSleet series CPU coolers for the DIY retail channel. These include the IceSleet G4 OC, IceSleet G4 Midnight, IceSleet X5, IceSleet X6, IceSleet X7 Dual, IceSleet X9 Dual, and a couple of IceFloe low-profile coolers.

Twinkly Shows How Little Tiles of 64 ARGB Squares Can Make for Some Jaw-Dropping Wall Lighting

Most PC peripheral companies betting big on addressable RGB lighting have shown off some room lighting products, but one of them that stand out for us is a lesser-known brand called Twinkly. Their device is a tiny 15 cm x 15 cm tile that has 64 squares, each with an addressable RGB LED. You daisy-chain several of these tiles as shown in the example below, and create some amazing wall-art that you can show off as a backdrop in your game stream. These tiles are controlled by a PC software that lets you program them whichever way you want them—cycle presets, work as ambient lighting, or even mirror your main display.
