GALAX 20th Anniversary GeForce RTX 4090 GPU Pictured

When GALAX began its operations in China in 2003, the company broke into the market and established itself as one of the best GPU AIBs out there. Now, the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special-edition graphics card to mark its two-decade run. We have previously reported that the company is planning to show more of the special-edition card; however, all we managed to get was a teaser of the GPU. Today, thanks to the X/Twitter user CornerJack we manage to see the new GPU in person and its uniquely positioned 12VHPWR power connector.

In the images below, we see that GALAX decided to work around the problem of bad cable management by introducing a more stealthy approach. The 16-pin 12VHPWR connector is now hidden inside of a GPU in an interesting place. The connector is placed in line with the GPU, next to the PCIe connector, to prevent cable bending, which is proven infamously dangerous. In regards to the special-edition features, we expect the card to be a great performer and certainly a star of the show of any PC build due to its white aesthetics.

GALAX Teases New GeForce RTX 40 series Graphics Card for 20th Anniversary

In order to celebrate its 20th anniversary, GALAX has teased a special edition GeForce RTX 40 series graphics card. Although there are no specific details, due to the size and thickness of the teased cooler, it is most likely that this will be a special edition GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card.

As detailed by Videocardz.com, the new graphics card will include a three- to four-slot thick cooler with two fans on the front side and an open area on the front, which could be an opening for a third fan located at the back of the card. GALAX already has an extensive lineup of RTX 4090 graphics cards, a total of fourteen, as well as over 80 different models of RTX 40 series graphics cards. The new GeForce RTX 40 series graphics card should be announced tomorrow, and GALAX has already unveiled a new series of high-end PCIe Gen 5 SSDs as a part of the 20th anniversary celebration. Hopefully, these won't be limited to the Chinese market, and we'll see a worldwide release.

Killer Instinct Migrating to Modern Server Infrastructure

Dear Combo Breakers - this winter will be Killer Instinct's 10th year on Xbox Live. Throughout that time, Xbox platforms and services have been constantly evolving. We have been able to keep KI operating and adapting to many of these changes behind the scenes. Over the last five years, however, it has become more challenging to deal with issues that crop up due to KI's reliance on legacy services. We have been working on solutions to address these concerns. Thank you for being patient and amazing fans through any bumps in the road.

We have started migrating KI's legacy services to PlayFab services, a process which will happen over the next several months. This is a quality-of-life (QOL) update and does not have any new content or tuning changes: it ensures the game you know and love continues to provide the best possible player experience. Today, we've kicked off the first migration build for Xbox consoles, Windows PC, and Steam.

OCCT Celebrates 20 Years of Stability Testing, Shares Thank You Message and Giveaway

2003 : WHEN IT ALL STARTED - OCCT started as a project when I was an exchange student in Oklahoma, USA, back in 2003. Everything began following a conversation on ICQ about verifying overclocking builds sent to a database. This led me to implement the first CPU test of OCCT, and building a GUI around it. Despite being only launched on forums, OCCT was quickly spread through the overclocking community, and climbed in popularity very quickly.

2004 - 2009 : YOU PLAY FOR FUN, I DEV FOR FUN
I returned back to France, living in Lille, then Douai, and I started working as a System administrator. OCCT became a hobby - something I would work on during evenings. Some people were doing raids on World of Warcraft - I was coding and releasing OCCT in my free time. I started pumping more features in OCCT : Linpack, test reports, the 3D standard test... the latter got me into the headlines when it revealed a design flaw in AMD's flagship GPU at the time : Radeon HD4870. This led AMD to issue a response: they called OCCT a "Power virus," as if it was a malicious program. I still hear that today.

Intel Celebrates 50th Anniversary of the Intel 4004 Processor

Today, Intel celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Intel 4004, the world's first commercially available microprocessor. With its launch in November 1971, the 4004 paved the path for modern microprocessor computing - the "brains" that make possible nearly every modern technology, from the cloud to the edge. Microprocessors enable the convergence of the technology superpowers - ubiquitous computing, pervasive connectivity, cloud-to-edge infrastructure and artificial intelligence - and create a pace of innovation that is moving faster today than ever.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 4004 chip. Think of how much we've accomplished in the past half-century. This is a sacred moment for technology. This is what made computing really take off!," said Pat Gelsinger, Intel CEO. The 4004 is the pioneer microprocessor, and its success proved that it was possible to build complex integrated circuits and fit them on a chip the size of a fingernail. Its invention also established a new random logic design methodology, one that subsequent generations of microprocessors would be built upon, before evolving to create the chips found in today's modern devices.

AMD To Offer RX 5700 XT Anniversary Edition in Europe, Canada After All

It seems that AMD either had a) unrevealed plans to launch their online store on more countries and markets alongside the introduction of the Navi-powered RX 5700 XT, or b) a change of mind when it comes to permitted availability of their collectors', limited-edition graphics card for the rest of the world. Originally reported to only be launched in the United States and China, an AMD representative (under the handle dprairie_AMD over at Reddit) has seemingly confirmed that the company will be bringing its limited-edition graphics cards to more markets than previously expected - though it still isn't a global release. The statement from Reddit follows.
Reddit user @dprairie_AMDHi all,
Friendly reminder that just because someone writes it doesn't mean it is true.... We will be expanding AMD.com sales to more countries, so we expect the 50th anniversary edition will also be available in: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Sorry we are not offering global availability at this point. We hear you on the desire. The team is focused on expanding into more regions/countries while making sure we can fully support customers.

AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition Pictured - Gold and Black Color Scheme

You've heard of it, and now you'll see it. AMD's introducing a commemorative edition of their RX 5700 XT graphics card, which brings back the company's XT suffix to video card performance grading (wondering if an XTX video card will eventually make its appearance...) - and a new, black and gold color scheme. The RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition will feature increased clocks over their counterparts, with an up to 1980 MHz Boost clock, 1830 MHz Game Clock, and 1680 MHz base clock (compared to 1905 MHz, 1755 MHz and 1605 MHz for the non-anniversary edition.

MSI Readies Commemorative RTX 2080 Ti Lighting Z 10th Anniversary Edition

Can you believe it's been 10 years since MSI launched its flagship Lighting brand of graphics cards? Turns out we reviewed our first MSI Lightning card more than a decade ago! An MSI Lightning card has always been the indicator that a flagship GPU by NVIDIA or AMD has succeeded in winning the hearts, minds, and wallets of gamers, lest MSI wouldn't bother with one. MSI already released the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lighting Z, and we reviewed it. Sources tell us that the MSI could be working on a second Lightning product based on the RTX 2080 Ti, which isn't a variation of the original, such as the RTX 2080 Ti Lighting Z with a water-block bolted on.

Named something along the lines of RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z 10th Anniversary Special Edition, the card will look significantly different than the RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z, and will ship with an on-card OLED display that puts out real-time monitoring data of the card's temperatures, clock-speeds, fan-speeds, voltages, memory utilization, or pretty much whatever you program it to. The card's cooler will also feature a more richly detailed RGB LED embellishment all around, and will be designed like a piece of jewelry. MSI may also touch up the card's electricals, BIOS, and overclocking-headroom to rival EVGA RTX 2080 Ti KINGPIN. MSI will unveil this card at the 2019 Computex exhibition.
