Patriot Wildfire SSDs Deliver Enterprise-like Performance to Desktops and Notebooks

Patriot Memory, a global pioneer in high-performance memory, NAND flash, storage and enthusiast computer products, today announced it is now shipping their new Wildfire series solid-state drives powered by a new SandForce SSD processor. The Patriot Wildfire series obliterates expectations of storage devices and delivers enterprise-like performance to consumer desktops and notebooks.

The Wildfire series utilizes the new SandForce SF-2200 processor enabling it to shatter previous SSD performance records with up to a blazingly-fast 555 MB/s sequential read and up to 520 MB/s sequential write speeds all backed by a SATA 6.0 Gb/s interface.

AMD Paves the Way for the Next Gen. of Supercharged Desktop PCs with 9-Series Chipset

AMD today launched its 9-Series chipset line-up today, helping PC builders to develop next generation high performance desktop platforms. The company also unveiled its 2011 HD Tablet Platform, based on the AMD Z-Series Accelerated Processing Unit (APU), enabling vivid media display and content creation capabilities for the fast-growing market of Microsoft Windows-based tablets. These new AMD products are designed to enable more immersive digital experiences for the PC and tablet markets.

V3 Gaming PC Announces Convoy Desktops with the 2nd Generation Intel Core Processors

V3 Gaming PC, manufacturer of high-end computer systems, has announced the integration of Intel's 2nd Generation Core Processor Family to their product line with the Convoy and Convoy 3DS Desktop Gaming Computers. Intel's latest processors, previously code-named "Sandy Bridge", offer several features that provide tangible performance benefits of their predecessors.

Among the benefits of the new processors is a more aggressive Turbo Boost 2.0, which will automatically overclock some of the processor's cores when the others are not in use. For those who desire a more traditional overclock, the Intel has launched K-series parts that can be overclocked through an unlocked multiplier to very impressive speeds. SHUTTLE Officially Unveils Forthcoming Line of All-In-One PCs and SFF Desktops

Shuttle, an industry leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance small form factor (SFF) PC solutions and creator of the XPC, today released details and images for the Shuttle models that will be showcased at the 2010 International CES, the world's largest tradeshow for consumer technology, from January 7-10, 2010.

Shuttle will be unveiling its forthcoming XPC models slated for release in the first half of the year, from the new J Series and re-designed All-In-One PC product lines. These models include the latest technology and new features from Intel, including the next-generation Intel Atom platform and the all new Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, and Intel Core i7 processors.

Samsung Launches Eco-friendly Desktops, System Opertation at 60W

Samsung announced two new desktop PCs, that drive the company's eco-friendly initiative. Pictured below, are two models: the MV100 Mini-Tower, and the MZ100 Slim-Tower (look at those dark cuboid objects). Both feature identical system specifications, they feature Intel processors, an Intel G43 chipset based motherboard, and a GeForce 9600 GT 512 MB graphics card. Optionally, the GeForce 9500 GS is also available. What sets these desktops apart, is the fact that they consume as less as 60W when in power-saving mode, and 1W in stand-by.

Alienware Launches ‘World’s Fastest Gaming Desktop’

Alienware has just launched what it is claiming to be "the world's fastest gaming desktop." The Area-51 ALX CFX comes equipped with a quad-core Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, overclocked from a stock speed of 3.0GHz to 4.0GHz with the aid of liquid cooling. It also features an Intel X38 Express chipset, up to 4GB DDR3 RAM at 1333MHz, the option of dual Radeon HD 3870 X2s running in CrossFireX and a range of hard drive capacities up to 2TB (including two 64GB solid-state drives), all powered by a 1000W PSU. To get maximum performance you'll need to spend a minimum of $7,488, but if you want a few extra bells and whistles such as acoustic dampening, system lighting and a better keyboard you could easily surpass the $10,000 mark.

Notebooks Outsell Desktops in 2007

Consumer notebook computers managed to outsell their desktop counterparts for the first time in 2007, thanks largely to the introduction of low cost notebooks such as ASUS' Eee PC and strong advertising campaigns for Intel's Centrino technology. Overall market figures, including corporate purchases, saw notebook sales rise 21% to 31.6 million units, whilst desktop sales fell 4% to 35 million units. Notebook sales are expected to account for 66% of the overall market and 71% of the consumer market by 2011. ASUS' Eee PC can be had for just $299, whilst reasonably equipped Celeron-M and Pentium notebooks can be found at some retailers for between $399 and $499, both of which have driven this surge in sales.
