EK Releases EK-Quantum CPU Water Blocks with Walnut Wood Tops

EK, the leading premium liquid cooling gear manufacturer, announces new signature CPU water blocks - EK-Quantum Velocity² and EK-Quantum Magnitude Lignum edition. Lignum Line is inspired by Mr. Edvard König's love for woodwork and modern computer technologies and is named after the Latin translation of the word "wood." A perfect symbiosis of the oldest natural building material and contemporary high-end cooling solutions. An unparalleled example of how your PC can reflect your lifestyle. While EK Lignum and its wooden opulence can bring a feeling of comfort and warmth, from the technological standpoint, this symbiosis allows for the best-performing socket-specific water blocks - Velocity² and Magnitude.

Embedded in the Velocity² is a next-generation EK CPU water block cooling engine that is socket-specific. A combination of mounting pressure and cold plate geometry, tailored for the IHS and die layout of each specific CPU platform, is used to achieve low hydraulic flow restriction and high performance. The lathe-turned cold plate is made with precision to cover the IHS effectively and put optimal pressure on the die area.

The 3rd-generation Vector cooling engine combines the jet plate with a 3D machined Plexi insert to improve flow distribution and thermal performance. This new cooling engine is still based on an Open Split-Flow cooling engine design, which proved to be a superior solution for GPU water blocks. It is characterized by low hydraulic flow restriction, meaning it can be used with weaker water pumps or pumps running on low-speed settings and still achieve top performance. We went to great lengths to achieve a symmetrical flow domain by utilizing an internal bridge to secondary components. This was done to ensure the cooling of secondary components without sacrificing flow distribution over the GPU core.

EKWB Lays Off 25% of Workforce, Blames Lower Watercooling Sales

EK Water Blocks, possibly the most notable manufacturer of DIY PC cooling solutions, has downsized a quarter of its staff in response to a sharp drop in sales. This affects over 60 of the 200+ tech jobs in Slovenia, the home country of EKWB, something it proudly flaunts. EKWB sees its sales principally split in half between the North American and European markets. The company's market-presence in Asia is limited at this time, although it is now a reinvigorated area of interest. The company noticed quarterly sales-drops in steps as big as 20 percent since October 2021, according to Slovenian press reports.

The company is faulting these sales drops on the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically its economic impact, spike in PC hardware prices, and people spending less on premium/novelty hardware that EKWB principally specializes in—DIY liquid cooling solutions. The company also noted the impact of the war in Ukraine causing various commodity shortages for manufacturers in Europe. Matjaž Krč (CEO, EKWB) in a statement even blamed the sociological impact of COVID-19, specifically gaps between pandemic waves that enable people to travel and enjoy the outdoors—not wanting to spend on things that keep them indoors, such as gaming.

EK Releases NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition EK Quantum FC Block

EK, the leading computer cooling solutions provider, is proud to finally unveil its Special Edition high-performance GPU water blocks for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition graphics card. The EK-Quantum Vector FE RTX 3090 Ti D-RGB comes in two versions - Silver and Black, both featuring stark contrasts between the aluminium outer shell and backplate, as well as the Plexi window and terminal illuminated with addressable D-RGB LEDs. The EK-Quantum Vector FE RTX 3090 Ti Backplates are available stand-alone for users who want single-colored blocks instead of the contrasting silver backplate on a black water block and vice versa.

Both water blocks come with two types of connection terminals, offering the versatility that the EK Special Edition water blocks are famous for. The performance is one of the key elements of the design, which is why this block features a larger fin area compared to other water blocks from the Vector family, and the 3090 Ti deserves nothing less as a flagship GPU.

EK Launches Evolved ABP-Compatible Vertical GPU Holder With a PCIe 4.0 Riser Cable

EK, the leading computer liquid cooling solutions provider, is introducing a new vertical GPU mounting bracket. This is an evolution of the EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder and it is called EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder EVO - Gen4 Riser. It is the most secure and rigid vertical GPU mounting mechanism, as it stands out for the way it uses two ATX motherboard mounting points to additionally secure the graphics card. Not only is this unique holder implementing unique mounting technologies, but it also uses thicker materials than other competitive solutions on the market. The list of upgrades to the original design also includes the offset-ability, PCIe 4.0 riser cable, EK-Matrix 7 compliance, and compatibility with EK-Quantum Vector Active Backplates.

Displaying your water-cooled graphics card or, alternatively, a GPU with a standard massive air cooler has become more and more popular over the years. One way to do this is to use the special aftermarket brackets that allow mounting the GPU vertically if the case is not already equipped with vertical PCIe slots. However, the user often faces issues with how these solutions work since they don't offer enough support, allowing the GPU to move around, sag, and stay crooked. This can significantly impair the aesthetics of said PC, which is a major problem as improving the looks is the main purpose of this bracket. Things can be even more challenging with liquid cooling, especially when installing fittings and tubing to a vertically placed GPU. Not to mention trying to ship a PC with a vertically mounted GPU.

EK Water Blocks Announces EK-Quantum Magnitude 1700 Water-Block

EK, the Europe-based premium water cooling gear manufacturer, is proud to present its flagship CPU water block - EK-Quantum Magnitude, designed specifically for the LGA 1700 socket. It uses specific flow distribution, cold plate geometry, and mounting pressure tailored to the IHS of LGA 1700 Intel processors. Its unrivaled internal geometry creates a far greater heat transfer area with less restriction that leaves no stress on the rest of the custom loop liquid cooling system.

This block is specifically engineered for LGA1700 socket-based Intel Core CPUs of 12th generation Core architecture. EK-Quantum Magnitude is bearing the prestigious iF Design award for the bold and different approach to the CPU water block mounting mechanism. Differentiated from any mounting structure of a water block that is usually a black and mundane plate, the design accentuates an integrated X-shaped three-dimensional frame with premium finishes that firmly cradles the main body in place, while the screws are morphed into sophisticated design details.

Naturally, when NVIDIA announced an even stronger card carrying the name RTX 3090 Ti, EK was anxious to supply water blocks and unlock the full potential of these behemoths. This would allow unprecedented performance levels and no worries about wasting heat.

EK Water Blocks Announces Flexible Leak Tester

EK, the premium liquid cooling gear manufacturer, is releasing a new leak tester purposed for PC liquid cooling. EK-Loop Leak Tester Flex is a fast and safe way to test for possible leaks in your custom water cooling loop. While traditional leak testing works, it is slow and requires actual liquid leaks in order to diagnose the issue. Using air as a test for leaks, does the job way faster, less messy, and ultimately just better.

Traditional leak testing requires the user to fill up the entire loop with coolant, wrap joints with paper towels, and wait for hours constantly checking if any of the paper towels are wet. With air testing with the help of a leak tester, the user doesn't have to fill the loop, allowing much easier disassembly in case of a component leaking, way fewer risks for the PC hardware, and to top it off, less hassle and time spent for the user.
