GIGABYTE Announces Radeon RX 6700 XT Gaming OC and EAGLE Graphics Cards

GIGABYTE today rolled out a pair of custom-design AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics cards. These include the RX 6700 XT Gaming OC, and the RX 6700 XT EAGLE. The company will also sell reference-design "made by AMD" RX 6700 XT cards. The RX 6700 XT Gaming OC features a WindForce 3X cooling solution that looks practically identical to the Radeon RX 6800 Gaming OC card, with possible modifications to its heatsink's base-plate. Three aluminium fin-stacks are skewered by five 6 mm-thick copper heat-pipes that make direct contact with the GPU. Additional base-plates pull heat from the memory and VRM areas. The card draws power from a combination of 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors. Display outputs include two each of HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectors.

The Radeon RX 6700 XT EAGLE is the more slender of the two custom-design RX 6700 XT cards by GIGABYTE. It is strictly 2 slots thick, and uses a slimmer heatsink. Three aluminium fin-stacks are joined by three 8 mm-thick copper heat pipes that make direct contact with the GPU. The power input configuration is the same as the Gaming OC card, as is the display output configuration. GIGABYTE didn't disclose the factory overclock speeds or either cards, but the Gaming OC card is expected to be the faster of the two. Both cards are expected to launch on March 18, 2021.

GIGABYTE Outs GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC WaterForce WB

GIGABYTE is ready with its GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC WaterForce WB graphics card. This card is extensively based on the company's more affordable Gaming OC custom-design RTX 3080 PCB, but comes with a factory-fitted full-coverage water-block, and is targeted at those with DIY liquid cooling setups. GIGABYTE sells another such custom RTX 3080 card, the RTX 3080 AORUS Xtreme WaterForce WB, which is based on the top-tier AORUS Xtreme PCB. The new RTX 3080 Gaming OC WaterForce WB is about 32 cm in length, same as the air-cooled card it's derived from, is 2 slots thick, and standard height. In comparison, the AORUS Xtreme WaterForce WB is 25.2 cm in length (just about the length of the PCB), 16.3 cm tall, and the block is single-slot thick, although its I/O forces it to be 2-slot.

The GIGABYTE RTX 3080 Gaming OC WaterForce WB uses nickel-plated copper as its primary material for the water-block, capped by an acrylic top that's mostly covered by by a plastic+metal shroud. The top is studded with addressable RGB LEDs that can be controlled using GIGABYTE's RGB Fusion software. The card comes with the same 1800 MHz GPU Boost factory-OC as its air-cooled sibling (compared to 1710 MHz reference). It does not come with the leak-detection feature you get with the AORUS Xtreme WaterForce WB. Connectivity includes three DisplayPort 1.4a and two HDMI 2.1 connectors. The card pulls power from two 8-pin PCIe inputs. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Update Mar 3rd: It appears that Gigabyte has used misleading renders and false claims when it comes to the composition of the water block. Recent findings from Igor's Lab confirm the use of mixed metals, including aluminium on the water block itself, that can lead to galvanic corrosion and blockage of the microfins over the GPU.

GIGABYTE Unveils Radeon RX 6900 XT Gaming OC

GIGABYTE Monday released its first custom-design AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card, the Gaming OC (model: GV-R69XTGAMING OC-16GD). As of this writing, the company hasn't yet announced RX 6900 XT based cards under its coveted AORUS Gaming series. The RX 6900 XT Gaming OC features a mostly similar board design to the RX 6800 XT Gaming OC, with a large triple-slot cooling solution, and a custom-design PCB. The cooler features three aluminium fin-stacks skewered by six 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes that make contact with the GPU and memory through a copper base-plate, while secondary base-plates pull heat from the VRM.

What sets the RX 6900 XT Gaming OC board design apart from its RX 6800 XT-based sibling, is a slightly bolstered VRM setup that pulls power from three 8-pin PCIe power connectors, as opposed to two on the RX 6800 XT Gaming OC. As a factory-overclocked card, the RX 6900 XT Gaming OC offers Boost frequencies of up to 2285 MHz (compared to 2250 MHz reference), and an increased power-limit. The card features dual-BIOS, and the default "OC" BIOS features these clock-speeds, while the "Silent" BIOS possibly trades off some power-limit for an aggressive fan-curve. Display outputs include two each of HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a connectors, there's no USB-C. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Gigabyte Readying RTX 2080 Gaming OC White Edition Graphics Card

Even as our very own review of Gigabyte's RTX 2080 Gaming OC is hot from the presses and still carries that sweet, new-graphics-card aura, the company is readying a new, white version of the card. This will certainly appeal for users that are increasingly tired of black and red color schemes - it basically has a (255, 255, 255) skin.

The graphics card should be an exact, bit-to-bit duplicate of the original Gaming OC and its technologies and ports, so if you want to know exactly what you're getting into, read on here. If you want an all-black design, though, stick with GALAX - Gigabyte are sticking with their black printed circuit boards.

Gigabyte's Radeon RX Vega 64 Gaming OC Custom Graphics Card Pictured

Remember previous reports that Gigabyte wouldn't be launching a custom version for AMD's RX Vega graphics cards? Always remember that facts can change, and what is true today could see itself being rendered a myth by lunchtime tomorrow. Case in point: previous reports pegged Gigabyte as skipping custom versions of AMD's RX Vega GPUs, due to both availability and manufacturing issues. However, as Videocardz reports (with pictures!), that may no longer be the case.

Apparently, Gigabyte has received a new batch of AMD RX Vega GPUs just in time for the mid-October expected release window of RX Vega custom cards, and are already at work on a Gaming OC custom version of the graphics card with a dual fan configuration (likely a revised WindForce 2X cooler). The card is expected to feature an output configuration of 3x HDMI + 3x DisplayPort, and in Videocardz image comparison, occupies slightly more space in our usual three dimensions than the AMD reference design (as expected).
