HyperX, the gaming peripherals team at HP Inc. and brand leader in gaming and esports, today revealed HX3D, an exciting new program bringing gamers a range of ways to customize and personalize their favorite gaming gear by leveraging HP's best-in-class 3D printing technology. HyperX will preview examples of personalized keyboards, headsets, mice, and other gaming products during CES 2023. The first planned series of 3D printed peripheral upgrades are limited edition custom keycaps, designed to fit on HyperX and most other mechanical keyboards, available to consumers over the coming months.

For those unfamiliar with Jelly Key, I highly encourage going through our previous coverage of the Vietnamese artisan's works wherein we've seen several different examples of highly detailed themes which get put to life on your keyboard courtesy artisan keycaps that use a resin pour over a layer-by-layer assembly incorporating individually molded tiny pieces. In particular, a little over an year ago saw the previous Dragons of Eden theme being covered and this week marks the latest group buy from Jelly Key that further builds upon this with finer detail and an expanded "Eden Effect" that makes the resin background feel like it is part of the scene itself.

Jelly Key had sent over a prototype keycap but it arrived just before the group buy started to where I was unable to do my usual quick look style article on it. Instead, I figured those interested in the Dragons theme that were not able to pick one up last time should know now is the time to do so. NVIDIA today announced the latest in the trend of branded PC customization. The Epomaker AK84S, now available on Kickstarter, is an 84-key wireless hot-swappable mechanical keyboard that is specifically optimized for macOS compatibility. It's versatile and customizable, even for its switches and keycaps. Compared with Epomaker previous GK/SK keyboards, the AK84S is equipped with a new set of silicone keycaps. On top of that, the proprietary Chocolate switches are available in different types to offer various tactile feelings. The AK84S provides several types of designs, including an aluminum frame version, a full aluminum case version, and a unique bold acrylic design version.

Cougar today rolled out the Vantar AX Black slimline keyboard. This is a variant of the original Vantar AX keyboard the company launched in mid-2020, but with a big design change—the keycaps are finally legible. The original uses frosted, translucent keycaps with black lettering, which are hard to read with the lighting turned on. The new Vantar AX Black uses more sober-looking black keycaps with the letters being illuminated (like on most illuminated keyboards). The underlying scissor-type switches are unchanged from the original, as is the aluminium unibody with diamond-cut edges. The keyboard measures 445 mm x 127 mm x 15 mm (WxDxH), weighing 626 g. The company didn't announce pricing.

Razer, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, today announced the Razer Huntsman Mini 60% optical gaming keyboard. We took a close look at HyperX's new keyboard, the Alloy Origins, earlier this week, and were left impressed with it. The company had sent along also a set of their new replacement keycap set for us to check out, and this seemed like a great product to trial out a shorter article format to cover products that otherwise would not merit multi-page reviews. The HyperX-branded PBT plastic keycaps with doubleshot injected legends use the so-called "pudding" construction, with the top 1/3 of the keycap sides only left opaque to allow for more light to go through. The black and white set was originally sold beginning late last year, and there must have been enough demand for HyperX to dedicate a new SKU for an all-white edition.
