In Win is always a stand-out attraction at PC trade-shows, and at the 2023 International CES, they presented a vision for what PC cases could ship like in the near-future. PC cases, particularly $20-50 ones, are incredibly uneconomical to ship, as they take up vast amount of spatial volume for the market-price. The new In Win POC isn't exactly an entry-level case, but adds a heavy DIY element to it, similar to what you'd find with Ikea furniture.

The In Win POC case comes in completely knocked down kits, with nealy all its metal panels flattened. There are cutouts on the panel, along which you manually bend and fold the sheet-metal to construct 3D shapes, as shown in online instructional videos made by In Win. A few bends and tightening of joints later, your case is ready for the hardware to be installed. The knocked-down case comes in an incredibly compact box that's a fraction of the volume of what would've been for a factory-assembled case, and needs much less protective Styrofoam. The concept carries on to the Dubili, a rather upmarket-looking ATX mid-tower which, although doesn't come with "fold here" sheet-metal, remains in a completely knocked-down state out of the box, with mostly flat bits that you join using a series of thumb-screw joints to give the case its 3-dimensional form.A video presentation by In Win follows.

MSI has recently announced several new PC cases including the Neon Genesis Evangelion limited-edition co-branded MPG GUNGIR 110R, MEG TREBLE ITX, and the MEG PROSPECT 700RL. The MSI MPG GUNGIR 110R EVA e-PROJECT case is a custom version of the GUNGIR 110R featuring coloring and theming inspired by the 1995 mecha anime series. The MSI MEG TREBLE Series ITX case features a unique hexagonal design with three chambers for a 330 mm graphics card, 280 mm liquid cooler radiator, and ITX motherboard + SFX-L power supply. The case can be positioned vertically or horizontally and features three removable panels for easy access to the chambers.

The MSI MEG PROSPECT 700RL is a standard mid-tower case featuring an integrated EKWB distribution plate simplifying custom water-cooling setups. The case can accommodate up to three 360 mm radiators on the top, front, and side and comes pre-installed with four 140 mm ARGB fans on the front and rear. The side and back panels all feature a screw-less design for easy access and maintenance while the front IO includes USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, HD audio, and a LED control button. MSI has not revealed any pricing or availability information for these cases.

CaseLabs, one of the OG brands in the PC gaming community, went bankrupt in 2018 amid the supposed Trump tariffs, which pushed aluminium prices over 80% higher. With the company using aluminium as its exclusive material for cases, the high pricing structure of the source material forced the company to close. However, recently we have heard some rumors of CaseLabs making a comeback with the new ownership. Today, it seems like the new owner posted an online survey to get a better insight into the brand's legacy and just how valuable it is was to consumers.

Many will recall that CaseLabs made very modular cases designed for extreme water cooling. Many developed powerful rigs inside CaseLabs cases, with many still in use, thanks to the quality of the product. The new owner is Emil Rytterstedt, according to sources close to Gamers Nexus. Lian Li is known at the higher-than-mainstream pricing bracket of the PC case world. The company made a name for itself with innovative-looking, angled motherboard brackets and well thought-out and engineered case layouts and materials, but has usually served the higher end of the spectrum. The company seems to be dipping its toes ever more slightly in the budget-friendly space with it's LANCOOL 215, though, which is bound to be releases this August.

The LANCOOL 215 will offer support for both standard and EATX motherboards, with the system being cooled by 2x 200 mm ARGB front fans that pull fresh (fresher in some places around the globe) air from outside the case through a perforated front panel. Hot air is then exhausted through a pre-installed rear 120 mm fan (non-RGB). A 360 mm radiator is supported in the front of the chassis, while the top supports a 280 mm one for added flexibility. But some would argue that having a good case for your PC hardware isn't enough unless you can showcase your PC hardware picks for your current build, so the LANCOOL 215 uses a tempered glass side panel for added "cool" factor. There's also an ARGB Lian Li logo on the bottom of the front fascia of the LANCOOL 215, and a PSU shroud which is practically standard these days. The best news? The LANCOOL 215 from Lian Li will be available for $69.99.

be quiet! introduces Pure Base 500DX, a more sophisticated version of the compact Pure Base 500 ATX case with a focus on high cooling performance through optimized airflow and advanced lighting features.

The interior of Pure Base 500DX has the same smart design and features as the critically acclaimed Pure Base 500, including support for high-end graphics cards up to 369 millimeters, CPU coolers up to 190 millimeters, and ample storage mounting options. The case supports installation of up to five SSDs - two of which can be displayed prominently in the main chassis chamber - or four SSDs and two HDDs. A PSU shroud and smart cable routing options including Velcro straps and plenty of eyelets provide a neat interior, while removable dust filters in the front and bottom of the case keep dust outside. The tempered glass side panel provides a great view into the interior of the case.

iBuyPower is clearly focusing a bit more on providing a more unique look and feel with their systems in recent years and the Revolt GT3 is no exception. The chassis at the foundation of the system can hold either a classic ITX based system with the GPU connected with an flexible cable on the backside of the motherboard or may be used to house the just announced Intel NUC Extreme platform. Either way, the platform offers maximum flexibility for building small form factor systems.

This is done with a suspended frame inside the chassis which can be pulled out completely for easy assembly. The covers may also be flipped around, giving you additional space. iBuyPower is working on brackets which can hold low profile fans or additional storage if you choose to rotate the top mesh cover for example. The Revolt GT3 is still being fine-tuned and the variant we saw for the NUC Extreme Platform was 3D printed while the additional mounting components for cooling and storage were not final yet either

Silverstone at CES 2020 took the opportunity to showcase selections of their portfolio for the media, ranging from PC cases in major form-factors, PSUs, and a range of "ease-of-life" and aesthetic-driven accessories. Accessory-wise, there's a range of SSD-related products, such as the MS09 stick, which allows conversion of an M.2 SSD to what basically amounts to a USB 3.1 pen drive; other products in this category include the MS09-Mini and the MS11, which improves support for the NVMe protocol. The ECM26 is a PCIe adapter for M.2 sticks, while the Silverstone TP02-M2 presents itself as a heatsink for installation on non-passive-cooled M.2 SSDs.

Continuing the SSD accessories galore, there are a number of other solutions, including a tool-less NMVe to PCIe adapter (ECM21-E), an ARGB powered one (ECM24-ARGB, which includes a heatsink), a simpler, non-ARGB one with a heatsink (ECM23), and my personal favorite, a docking station for a barebones M.2 drive you may have around, in the form of the TS16 station. The presence of a Power button very surely means this can't be hot-swapped - the risk of data-loss is real.
