Synology Acknowledges Erratum in Intel Atom C2000-powered NAS

Synology Inc. is aware of a new processor erratum discovered in the Intel Atom C2000 family. After in-depth investigation, the possibility of seeing accelerated degradation of a certain processor component is rare after prolonged and heavy usage. This erratum is not known to cause data loss, nor any safety hazards. Based on hundreds of thousands of shipped products equipped with Intel C2538 processors since 2014, Synology has not seen any abnormal error rates compared to products equipped with different Intel processors.

As of today, all products equipped with Intel C2538 processors are performing in-line with Synology's quality standards. As a testament to our confidence in Synology's product reliability, we are extending the warranty for Intel C2538 based products by an additional year. A dedicated service email, has also been implemented for further questions.

Synology Launches Synology Router RT2600ac and VPN Plus

Synology Inc. today launched the RT2600ac, a high-speed, security-focused router designed to accommodate the modern home and office. Packed with powerful packages inside an intuitive interface, the RT2600ac delivers robust performance with stable, uninterrupted wired and wireless connections for multiple users. In addition, VPN Plus is officially released to allow users of Synology Router to set up a powerful, on-premises VPN solution.

To maximize user experience and network performance, the RT2600ac is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, and comes equipped with the latest 802.11ac Wave 2 certified radios featuring MU-MIMO support, ensuring more devices can connect at higher speeds. Synology Introduces DiskStation DS3617xs NAS

Synology Inc. today launched DiskStation DS3617xs, a 12-bay NAS server scalable up to 36 drives. It delivers high performance at over 2,358 MB/s reading and fast deployments to support large-scale businesses. Equipped with a quad-core Intel Xeon-D 2.2 GHz CPU that bursts up to 2.7 GHz, DS3617xs delivers stunning performance at over 2,358 MB/s sequential throughput reading and 406,760 IOPS reading under a RAID 5 configuration with 10GbE Link Aggregation enabled. DS3617xs comes with one PCIe 3.0 slot that supports a high-speed Network Interface Card (NIC).

Synology Announces the FlashStation FS3017 All-Flash NAS

Synology today launched FlashStation FS3017, the company's pioneer product within an entirely new all-flash series. Capable of handling over 200,000 IOPS in 4k random writing with RDMA technology enabled, the FS3017 is perfect for big data analysis, video post-production, virtualization, and handling any demanding database application that requires high IOPS and low latency at the same time.

FS3017 features dual Intel Xeon 6-core processors, 64GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM (expandable up to 512GB), dual built-in 10GBase-T ports, and supports optional 10GbE / 25GbE / 40GbE NICs, guaranteeing stable performance in multitasking and data throughput. Synology Announces the DiskStation DS216j NAS

Synology Inc. today launched DS216j, a NAS perfect for home media streaming, as well as file sharing and backup. Powered by a dual-core CPU with a floating-point unit (FPU), the 2-bay NAS is designed for home and personal users that are in need of a reliable, highly efficient home server requiring less power consumption. Synology Launches the RT1900ac Router in the US Market

Synology DiskStations DS215j and DS115 are En Route to Stores

The DiskStations are powered by a dual-core processor with Floating-Point Unit (FPU) that unlocks its power in multitasking and multimedia processing. The platform upgrade enables the DS215j to deliver average read speeds over 111 MB/sec and average writes over 87 MB/sec, a 19% gain in writing compared with its predecessor, while keeping its power consumption as low as 13.4 watts in full operation and 5.3 watts when hard drives hibernate. The addition of the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface further boosts its file transfer speeds.

For encrypted files, RS815+/RS815RP+ delivers 388 MB/s (11 times faster than the previous generation) while DS2415+ reaches 451 MB/s (13 times faster than its predecessor) in reading speed.
