ADATA Announces XPG LANCER DDR5 Memory - Up to 6000 MT/s of RGB Goodness

XPG, a fast-growing provider of systems, components, and peripherals for Gamers, Esports Pros, and Tech Enthusiasts, today announces the XPG LANCER DDR5 memory module. XPG LANCER is XPG's first DDR5 gaming memory. It offers increased bandwidth, allocates more bandwidth per CPU core, and reaches frequencies of up to 5,200 MT/s. What's more, it is equipped with a PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) and ECC (Error Correcting Code) for enhanced performance and stability. LANCER comes with 16 GB of capacity.

The XPG LANCER ushers in the DDR5 era for XPG gaming memory. Reaching frequencies of up to 5,200 MT/s, it delivers a major performance boost for gaming and overclocking. With error correcting code, (ECC) this module can correct errors automatically in real-time. In addition to greatly reducing the burden of CPU calculations, it also provides increased stability and reliability.

GIGABYTE is ready with its first AORUS-branded DDR5 memory kits. Pictured below is the first of its kind, which should give you an idea of the design for the series. The one pictured below is a DDR5-5200 two-module kit with 16 GB DIMMs, making up 32 GB, which is this generation's mainstream memory amount, as 16 GB (2x 8 GB) was for DDR4, and 8 GB for DDR3 (2x 4 GB). It features XMP 3.0, letting you effortlessly enable the advertised frequencies on a Z690 chipset motherboard. It's likely that the company designs other models with 8 GB DIMMs that have higher frequencies, or even 64 GB kits using "dual-rank" 32 GB DIMMs.

CPU-Z 1.97 Brings Support for Alder Lake CPUs, DDR5, and XMP 3.0

CPU-Z, the software of choice for monitoring the CPU and its attributes, has yesterday been updated to version 1.97, which brings much-needed and interesting features. For starters, the new version adds support to detect Intel Core i9-12900K, Core i7-12700K, and Core i5-12600K "Alder Lake" CPUs and the Intel Z6xx chipset platform. Those specific SKUs are the top of the line in their respective categories, and it is only logical that support for the new generation starts there.

Next up, the software now supports detection of the latest DDR5 DRAM technology, which can now also be detected along with the new XMP 3.0 profile format. Last but not least, the software is adding detection for AMD's Radeon RX 6600 XT GPU as well.

TEAMGROUP Brings RGB to Next-Gen DDR5 with the Launch of T-FORCE DELTA RGB DDR5 Gaming Memory

Since the end of 2020, TEAMGROUP has been at the forefront of next-generation DDR5 development, working closely with motherboard manufacturers to perform extensive validation testing. Whether it is the testing and research of DDR5's new PMIC architecture or XMP overclocking parameters, the company has achieved very fruitful results. Today TEAMGROUP is launching its brand new DELTA DDR5 Memory Series, the first DDR5 modules to be equipped with RGB lighting effect, providing gamers who enjoy visual flair with both next-level speed and eye-pleasing illumination.

The T-FORCE DELTA RGB DDR5 continues the design language of the DELTA DDR4 Series by maintaining the ultra-large spreader with wide-angled RGB edges and a minimalist geometrical surface. The overall look is further enhanced by its sleek stealth-fighter-inspired design. In addition, the color and flashing speed of each RGB LED used in DELTA RGB DDR5 can be independently controlled, offering more freedom to customize lighting effects than a typical RGB DDR4 memory. Currently samples have been sent to ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, ASROCK, BIOSTAR and other motherboard manufacturers for lighting tests. Latest HWiNFO Update Adds Suport for XMP 3.0 on DDR5, Among Other Features

The release notes for the latest version of famous system utility HWiNFO have spilled the beans on an update to Intel's XMP. Currently at version 2.0, XMP (eXtreme Memory Profile) is a technology that allows the system-level BIOS to run DDR memory at speeds higher than those allowed by JEDEC, the governing specifications body for all things memory. It extends the performance profiles usually made available via SPD (Serial Presence Detect). An update to Intel's XMP (XMP 3.0) for DDR5 memory is referred to in the release notes for version 7.05 of the software. Not much more to look at here - it remains to be seen what changes are actually a part of XMP 3.0, and if any increased utility will be added to these profiles. Remember, however, that nor Intel nor AMD (via its A-XMP implementation) enable warranty coverage should XMP be enabled in your system.

Other relevant updates for the application include advanced early support for Zen 4 systems (looking at you, AMD), as well as per-core temperature monitoring for Zen-based CPUs. There are other additions to the supported hardware, which you can find in the screenshot below.
