ASUS Unveils the GeForce GTX 780 STRIX 6 GB Graphics Card

ASUS today took the veil off a new graphics card powered by NVIDIA's GK110 GPU, a custom GeForce GTX 780 that packs 6 GB of memory (double the amount found on 'regular' GTX 780s) and makes use of a DirectCU II cooling solution that can be totally silent, in certain situations. Named GeForce GTX 780 STRIX, the card in question will not be running its two fans when idle or during light workload scenarios (assuming the GPU temperature is below a threshold) but will power them up as soon as the GPU load increases.

The GeForce GTX 780 STRIX has 2304 CUDA Cores, a 384-bit memory interface, SLI support, dual-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and will be available in two versions - one with stock clocks and one with an overclocked GPU. ASUS is promising more information 'soon'.

It goes to show that MSI GAMING motherboards are not only full of GAMING galore, they also inherited plenty of OC DNA from MSI's Overclocking products.

Team Project X Series Memory Creates Super Pi 32M World Record

TeamGroup announced the new world record of Super Pi 32M (Air Cooling) on Jan. 22, 2014. Working together with HKEPC OC Lab in Hong Kong, TeamGroup overclocking memory module has achieved new record" 4min 38sec 329ms ", not only placed among the Top 5 world record of Super Pi 32M, but also the only non-extreme cooling record in Top 10 Global Ranking.

Super Pi 32M is the most popular test program for pro overclockers to compare the performance and stability of their computers. It's also one of the main items in HWBOT Global Ranking. Avexir Debuts the Blitz 1.1 Series Memory

The Avexir brand is an established manufacturer associated with producing top quality, high-end RAM memory. Avexir is one of the only manufactures in which the factories hand check each module when it comes to overclocking and working in dual and quad channel modes. The modules are packed into elegant boxes only when they pass thorough quality control tests on different systems including AMD and Intel processors. Other manufacturers unfortunately don't do such controlled hand quality checks, which means users are more likely to encounter a faulty DDR module, which can cause incompatibilities and headache for the user.

Avexir presents today on European market five new series of quality checked memories:
  • Avexir BLITZ 1.1 Original White LED
  • Avexir BLITZ 1.1 OCF Yellow LED
  • Avexir BLITZ 1.1 ELG Yellow LED

NVIDIA Sets Up Price Cuts in Response to Radeon R9 Series

In the wake of AMD rolling out the $299 Radeon R9 280X, $199 Radeon R9 270X, and $139 Radeon R7 260X; NVIDIA is giving final touches to price cuts to several of its SKUs, beginning with the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost. Originally priced at $149, pricing of the card could be adjusted closer to that of the R7 260X. Our review of the card revealed NVIDIA's offering to be a staggering 24 percent faster overall. NVIDIA could also lower the price of the now $180 GeForce GTX 660. All eyes, however, are on the $249 GeForce GTX 760, which is sandwiched by AMD's offerings.

There's also talk of NVIDIA developing a new SKU, possibly the "GeForce GTX 760 Ti" or "GeForce GTX 765" (likely names), to occupy the $240~260 price range. We expect this chip to be essentially an overclocked GeForce GTX 670 with GPU Boost 2.0; which may not quite go after the R9 280X, since it's already performing on par with the GeForce GTX 770. The new price cuts could take effect very soon; although DigiTimes isn't ruling out a second round of price-cuts in November, either.
