Thermaltake Level 20 RGB Hard Mouse Pad Review

Packaging

Naturally, the Level 20 RGB hard pad doesn't come rolled up unless yours went through a serious shipping hiccup, so its box is flat and thin. It is covered in some render pictures, specifications, and marketing text. The package contains the mouse pad itself and a small quick-start guide booklet.

Size and Surface

With dimensions of 370 mm x 290 mm x 4 mm, or 14.57" x 11.42" x 0.16", this mouse pad is of medium size.

Given we're talking about a hard pad, it's a completely different sensation to toss the mouse around on compared to a soft, micro-woven cloth material. There is way less stopping power, and the mouse can glide around effortlessly. Some people really prefer speed over control: for them, hard pads like this one are pretty much the go-to option. In all honesty, I have no great experience with pads like this as the ASUS ROG Balteus Qi was the first one I had tried, but I didn't personally like that one. It was too rough for my taste, but this one is way smoother, and faster, too. It's worth mentioning that hard pads eat through mouse feet much faster than cloth ones.

Not only isn't there a raised logo on the surface, but the TT symbol also lights up with the sides as it has its own RGB zone.

Underside

The rubber backing on this pad is hands down the best I have ever encountered, although it's worth mentioning that traction can vary between each tabletop material. On my standard IKEA Linnmon, it's brutally good—it's impossible to move around unintentionally, and if you really want to place it elsewhere, you have to pick it up first. Great job here, and kudos to Thermaltake for it!
