Overclocking
The overclocking results listed in this section were achieved with the default fan and voltage settings as defined in the VGA BIOS. Please note that every single sample overclocks differently which is why our results here can only serve as a guideline for what you can expect from your card.
Maximum overclock is 1095 MHz GPU clock (16% overclocking) and 1465 MHz memory (17% overclock).
GPU overclocking is a bit lower than what we've seen on the R9 290X, but that's to be expected, assuming AMD is sorting GPUs to use the best ones on R9 290X cards. Memory overclocks significantly lower, which looks more like a BIOS issue than an actual memory chip limitation.
Using these clock frequencies, we ran a quick test of
Battlefield 3 to evaluate the gains from overclocking.
Actual 3D performance gained from overclocking is 14.8%.
