Introduction

Sometimes coming out with great stuff, but often not, I have no idea where to begin with ASRock. Their products have been hit or miss.

A whole new generation of gamers is about to be sprung on us. A LOT of kids play video games. A couple billion exist, and if not now, soon. How many will even know who Fatal1ty is? I understand the legacy behind ASRock's branding, but its relevance in the marketplace is questionable at best. Yet with nearly every brand now very obviously focusing on gaming like never before, I cannot fault ASRock that much for hanging on to the original "pro gamer" and the start of an industry that many benefit from today. Never mind that my favorite X79-based motherboard is a Fatal1ty product because it overclocks like mad and has perfect spacing for three air-cooled GPUs. ASRock has proven to me with that past X79 board and their OC Formula line that they can do great things, but I cannot say I favor every product of theirs, so I am always wary, hoping for much but expecting very little.

ASRock sent me their Fatal1ty Z97X KILLER motherboard. I literally got an email that read, "I sent you a review sample. Let me know what you think." So let us not prolong ASRock's wish any further. I present you the ASRock Z97X Fatal1ty KILLER.
