Introduction

Biostar is that entry-level product designer I can't help but love. In the past, entry-level stuff has not been all that great, or inspiring, but with the launch of Intel's Z77 Express chipset, Biostar released the TZ77XE motherboard, one that had most of the capabilities of higher-priced boards at a bit over $100. While overclocking CPUs with the TZ77XE, it became obvious that Biostar was a name many should pay a bit more attention to since its clocking capabilities vastly exceeded expectations, and although memory overclocking was not stellar, it was more than adequate for most users. With the TZ77XE, Biostar clearly showed that even those who wish to push their system to the limit on a budget could do so easily.

Now, a few generations later, Biostar is back with a great board for modest overclocking, packed with their Hi-Fi technology that focuses on delivering superb audio across all platforms, which sets the status quo for those other brands with a hefty toll on your wallet. Today, we will look at the Biostar Hi-Fi Z97WE, one packed with features, a new color scheme, and all that Biostar goodness I have come to love.
