A Closer Look - Outside

The new mainstream chassis makes a very solid impression. The Centurion line-up has certain attributes like the all steel construction and solid front, along with the rounded edges of the front panel. The entire unit is painted black and has several large fan grills, as well as a completely perforated front.


Unlike the previous Centurion cases, this one has nine full size drive bays. The third cover from the bottom also has a Centurion logo on it and can be relocated to every other postition. The top holds the I/O and power button. For some strange reason Cooler Master has decided to omit the reset button. This is certainly an important and useful function. The lack of this button is a large drawback of the case. The upper edge of the front holds the Cooler Master logo.


Both sides have various air vents. The one behind the mainboard only has a small vent, which is located right behind the CPU socket of a standard ATX board. There are two punched out fan holes on the other side of the chassis. These can hold any fan size between 80 and 140 mm in size. It would have been nice to see a simple dust filter on these.


The rear does hold a little surprise. There are two punch outs located at mid level. One seems to be for a serial port, while the other has the shape of an HDMI port.


The general layout is nothing ordinary either. The power supply bay is located at the bottom of the case. You may install the PSU with the fan facing upward or downward. The middle holds seven expansion slots as well as two holes for water cooling tubes. The top is occupied by a single 120 mm fan.
