Fan Noise

The ECS G31T-M is all passively cooled, so there is no fan noise. In the BIOS you will find a "SmartFan" option to control the CPU fan speed based on temperature.

Overclocking

Overclocking is quite limited on this board. The BIOS has only options to change memory timings and CPU Frequency. Voltage adjustments are not available.



We could overclock our E6300 to an FSB of 342 MHz, after that the BIOS would not show more than a black screen on POST. We also tried with a 1333 FSB CPU which ran perfectly fine at 333 FSB, but could not go beyond 342 MHz FSB either.

So this board is a good overlocker when used with a 266 FSB CPU because you can easily overclock more than 25%. When used with a 333 FSB CPU only a few percent are possible.
