Packaging

The unit comes in a quite large black box with the series and model description on its front. The 80 Plus Gold badge is really small, like EVGA meant to hide it. It resides near the bottom-left corner.

Only one of two sides has EVGA's name on it, while the other lists some of EVGA's achievements.

The most interesting side is the rear of the box. It features several internal shots of the PSU, a table describing all provided cables and connectors, a features list, and the power specifications table. The latter table stresses the fact that this unit can deliver its full power at even 50°C, which is amazing because the +12V rail can deliver almost 110 A of current! Such a high amperage is more than enough for a welding machine!

Contents

The contents inside the box are nicely arranged, and the unit is protected by two foam spacers. It is also wrapped in a nice black bag.

The bundle includes the necessary modular cables, an AC power cord, a user's manual, a set of fixing bolts, and a pouch for unused cables.

Exterior

The PSU's design is nice. The coated matte finish is superb—it is fingerprint proof and provides enough protection against scratches. The on/off switch is installed under the AC receptacle at the front, and there is a specifications label on both sides. The fully modular panel with its red PCIe sockets—the color distinguishes them from the rest—is on the rear. We surely prefer Super Flower's LED-lit modular panel with clear cube connectors, but including those apparently increases cost, so we can make do without.

The unit's dimensions are huge, which is to be expected since it is a real power house, and only a large PCB can fit all the necessary components. Also, the fan grill has been curved into the casing, which looks nice, giving the unit a unique look.

All cables are fully sleeved and stealth, and the sleeving is of acceptable quality, at least for regular users, since equipping a unit with sleeving satisfactory to modders is really hard. The PCIe cables are sleeved in red, which makes them stand out from the rest.
