EVGA is well into the PSU business by now, with many highly competitive PSUs thanks to their close cooperation with a top OEM, Super Flower. The latest addition to their arsenal is the SuperNOVA P2-1200 unit. It uses exactly the same platform as the Super Flower Leadex Platinum 1200 W unit we reviewed a while ago, which impressed us with its performance. With the new P2-1200, the SuperNOVA family becomes even stronger, ready to face the strong and digital competition with top performance at a much higher price. We strongly believe that EVGA’s successful course so far doesn't only have to do with their topnotch products as a key factor is also their high price/performance ratio due to the very good prices at which the company offers these units after obvious negotiations with Super Flower (SF). The best part about SF is that they offer incredibly well-performing products at a good price, although their platforms use top components that are expensive. We just hope SF's aggressive pricing strategy is solely due to a clever business plan, without debilitating their human resources (low salaries and poor working conditions).

The new P2-1200 features a fully modular cabling design, a selectable semi-passive operation which will reduce its noise output with low loads, and EVGA even says the unit to use nothing but Japanese capacitors, which increases the unit’s reliability over time. We will dismantle the PSU for a thorough inspection of its internals and to get a better idea of its build quality. However, given our experience with the similar Leadex unit, we know what to expect. The cherry on top is EVGA's whopping ten-year warranty, which the company ties to some conditions.
