Windows 7 Startup Time
In this test, we measure the time it takes Windows 7 to boot from the kernel start-up to the execution of start-up programs. An internal kernel timer keeps track of the time and is more accurate than a stop watch.
It looks as though the NVMe interface adds some additional boot time to Windows 7, using our installation trick described earlier. Windows 8 or newer should not have such issues.
WinRAR Compression
This test measures the time it takes WinRAR to uncompress the Linux 3.14.7 Kernel xz archive to the tested drive.
