Introduction
Intel's Haswell refresh line has drawn a lot of conspicuous looks from those who supported the initial Haswell offering (with the i7-4770K taking the helm). Stating the disbelievers on point, there just can't be much of a difference between Haswell and its Refresh line relaunch.
While the chipset is a rehash of its predecessor, of sorts, many motherboard makers have released newer Z97 iterations in an attempt to reinvigorate some of their designs while also catering to incoming motherboard enthusiasts looking to build a new PC for fall's video games lineup. The Intel Core i7-4790K finally arrived and we get to figure out its overclocking potential, the main draw of any 'K'-series CPU, to see how it compares to the flagship Intel Core i7-4770K.
