Overclocking

To find the maximum overclock of our card we used a combination of ATITool's successor, Furmark and our benchmarking suite.
The overclocks listed here were achieved with the default fan and voltage settings as defined in the VGA BIOS. Please note that every single sample overclocks differently, that's why our results here can only serve as a guideline for what you can expect from your card.

The final overclocks of our card are 723 MHz core (16% overclock) and 1184 MHz Memory (8% overclock). I would say the core overclock is a slight improvement over the reference design, where most cards clock around 700 to 715 MHz. The memory overclock is slightly lower with most reference designs hitting 1200 MHz. Overall the overclock is still nice, especially considering it is on top of an already applied out of the box overclock.

Overclocked Performance

Using these clock frequencies we ran a quick test of Call of Duty 4 to evaluate the gains from overclocking.

The actual 3D performance gained is 11.1%.

Temperatures

The GPU temperatures are very similar to what the reference design is running at. As mentioned before I would prefer slightly higher idle temperatures in return for a quiet fan during idle.
