AMD's Radeon HD 6950 has been released in mid-December. Both the HD 6950 and the HD 6970 are using a new VLIW4 shader architecture as opposed to the VLIW5 configuration of previous cards.
PowerColor's HD 6970 PCS+ uses the AMD Radeon HD 6970 as a base design and refines it even further. A new dual fan cooler keeps the card cool, the clock speeds have been increased significantly out of the box. Actually the PowerColor HD 6970 PCS+ is the highest-clocked HD 6970 card that money can buy at the moment. With a price increase of $10 the card doesn't add much to the pricing of the HD 6970, the included Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 coupon also helps to attract buyers for the PowerColor HD 6970 PCS+.
