Performance

Using a mouse or any other input device is a very subjective experience. This means that each user is different and has different likes and dislikes. We try to convey the upsides and shortcomings of such devices with as much objectivity as humanely possible, but keep in mind that your style of gaming may be completely different.

Size & Build Quality

Placing your hand on the Salmosa, it can be considered to be medium sized. It is not quite as big as the Logitech MX Revolution, but not quite as skinny as the NZXT Avatar. The build quality is what you would expect from Razer mice. As for weight, the mouse is quite light weight. This means that you do not need a lot of force to move the Salmosa around and the mouse flies across most gaming surfaces. The buttons on the Salmosa are very loud, much more than the already noisy MX Revolution. While this may not be a problem when gaming at a LAN party, it will get on one's nerves when sitting in a quiet room.

Use
Using the Salmosa for office work bears no surprises. The light weight is easy to move and the skid pads on the underside seem to be very well balanced between friction and gliding across the surface. The black scroll wheel on the other hand, is quite hard to turn, which makes scrolling down long documents somewhat unpleasant.

Trying the Salmosa in various games was a joy. The internal Razer sensor is certainly nothing to snuff at. Fast movements are translated into very accurate repositioning and the pressure point of the buttons is great, giving you the ability to press it quickly. Using the scroll wheel works quite well for gaming. The high friction of the wheel makes it easy to scroll through your weapons in first person shooters. During gaming I did miss the extra buttons usually found on most other mice, even ones that cost just a fraction of the Salmosa. Moving from 800 to 1800 DPI also means that one has to stop gaming for a second to hit the switch on the bottom of the mouse. Razer should have relocated it to the top of the Salmosa.
