Super Flower did the impossible (or at least nearly impossible): to provide a top performing PSU at bottom low price, for its category of course. I wonder how they managed to reduce the production and development cost so much, in order to be able to sell at this price. Currently the SF-1000P14PE is the most affordable Platinum 1000W unit and its price is lower than some Gold efficiency units with the same capacity.
The Golden King 1000W exhibited very high efficiency over the whole load range and especially at very low loads its efficiency was outstanding. Voltage regulation at +12V is pretty tight, ripple suppression is excellent and the cooling fan is almost inaudible, even at full load and 50°C ambient. On top of that at lower loads the unit goes fanless, if you select the ECO mode through the small red switch located on its front side. One thing that I would like to see improved is the weak 5VSB rail which delivers only 2.5A. In a 1000W unit I expect at least 3-3.5A on this rail. Also the minor rails need some tuning in order to register a little better voltage regulation and match the top performing PSUs on our charts.

To conclude, at this price the Super Flower Golden King 1000W easily earns an Editor's Choice from me and a top spot among the best high capacity Platinum units, since it performs great and emits minimal noise levels even at worst case scenario (full load with high ambient). If you want a top performance PSU that delivers excellent efficiency all the time, with the lowest possible noise and the best available price then the Golden King 1000W is the PSU want.
