Introduction

From the Swiftech website:
Swiftech was founded in 1994 by Gabriel Rouchon, and incorporated in 2001 under the legal entity name of Rouchon Industries Inc., dba Swiftech. Its sales skyrocketed in early 2001 following the release of the famed MC370 line of heatsinks. Reviews of the heatsink in the Internet Press propelled Swiftech® into the limelight as the number one source for high-performance heatsinks in the aftermarket computer parts Industry.

Over the course of the last decade, Swiftech has emerged as one of the leading forces driving the high-end thermal management scene in the personal computer industry. Pioneering work, innovation, and an uncompromising dedication to high performance and quality have resulted in award winning products setting standards for others to follow. Swiftech® has consistently demonstrated leadership by thinking outside the box, and remains to this day driven by an intense competitive spirit. As a result, Swiftech® is considered by many as one of the founding fathers of the liquid cooling industry for personal computers. This has been accomplished despite intense pressure from heavyweight industry players with powerful sales and marketing acumen. Swiftech's name is recognized worldwide, and synonymous with Performance, Innovation, Quality and Value.

Formed in 1994, Swiftech has now been around for exactly two decades. In that span of time they have evolved into a force to be reckoned with in the PC liquid-cooling industry. Today, they are an enthusiast favorite for high quality radiators, blocks, or fittings - you name it. When it comes to liquid cooling a PC, Swiftech is a name everyone knows.

Swiftech is a leading manufacturer of liquid-cooling components to today's PC enthusiast, which is no fluke, but their breakthrough was with an air cooler, the MC370. It made them an enthusiast favorite back in 2000-2001. Fast forward to today and the Apogee CPU blocks and Komodo GPU waterblocks are enthusiast favorites, while their Helix line of fans prove to be a solid price/performance offering. With such a solid product porfolio and their extensive knowledge of liquid cooling, it is no wonder they turned their eyes toward the all-in-one liquid-cooling market.

In today's review, I take a look at the Swiftech H240-X, the bigger brother to the H220-X I already reviewed. It too features nothing but high-end components, including the Apogee XL water block, MCP 30 pump, and MCR-X20 radiator, though the radiator is 280 mm instead of 240 mm large this time around. With a switch to 140 mm fans and a 280 mm radiator, will the H240-X stand on its own or will the H220-X prove the better option? Let's find out!
