Introduction

We would like to thank Be Quiet for supplying the review sample.

Be Quiet re-entered the high-end category with the refreshed Dark Power Pro 10 series, which includes six members. The smaller ones, including the Pro P10 550W are made by FSP which is Be Quiet's favorite OEM while the higher capacity ones are made by Seasonic, one of the best PSU manufacturers with great experience and high performance products.

In this review we are going to take a detailed look at the Dark Power Pro 10 850W (BQT P10-850W) which basically uses the same platform as the Seasonic P-860 but also features some noticeable differences. For starters it isn't fully modular but has a single native cable (the main ATX one) and it is also equipped with a high quality and ultra-silent FDB fan. Furthermore it has the ability to switch between multi-rail and single rail modes by the flip of a switch or by the use of a jumper. Thanks to four fan headers next to the modular panel you can directly power your system's fans.

The new BQT P10-850W is equipped with an impressive amount of cables including seven PCIe connectors! To the best of our knowledge this is the first 850W PSU that has more than six PCIe connectors and on top of that it also has two EPS ones.
Be Quiet speaks of up to 94% efficiency, phantom power lower than 0.3W and zero load support for Intel's Deep Power Down C6 mode. The PSU's warranty is set to five years with a free on-site replacement service within the first year (limited to Germany and France). Hopefully they will expand this service to other countries in the near future.
