Known Issues

Vista refuses to install the driver or the driver isn't loaded correctly

Due to a radical change in how Vista handles graphics some changes need to be made to the ATITool. These changes are in the early stages and support should improve as we get closer to the Vista release date of January, 2007. Check the beta forum for the latest changes and tips for Vista compatibility.

Cube is without fur

If the rendered cube is without fur and you are running Catalyst 3.10, make sure your ‘MipMap details’ setting is set to maximum- this is a Catalyst bug. Please note, if you are running Catalyst 3.10 you should really think about upgrading. :)

Init of FindMax:Subsequent images are different

If you get “Init of findMax:Subsequent images are different. Please report this bug.” or experience other problems with artifact scanning, try disabling Anti-Aliasing and/or Anisotropic Filtering. Some users also report changing their AGP Aperture Size to 128MB fixes this. Please report back with your results....

Temporal Anti-Aliasing

Scanning functions of ATITool will not work properly if Temporal Anti-Aliasing is enabled.

To disable this go to ATI Control Panel → 3D → Custom → Uncheck ‘Application Preference’ → Uncheck ‘Temporal Anti Aliasing’ → Check ‘Application Preference’ again → Click ‘Apply’

Omega Drivers

If you are using Omega Drivers and experience problems try with the standard Catalysts and see if it makes a difference. I’m looking into this issue.

Find Max. never stops

The find max functions will run endlessly by default - it’s up to you to decide when a certain overclock is stable. There is a setting to control stop testing and can be set to run for a certain period of time.

FRAPS

Disable FRAPS when scanning or searching for maximum overclock. FRAPS’ FPS counter in the corner of the rendered image will be detected as error.

Integrated VGA Cards

ATI’s IGP graphics chips are not supported. There are too many architectural differences. Almost all IGP solutions are not suitable for overclocking anyway. Lack of cooling would be one reason as would be serious screwing with the motherboard would be another.
