Tried it out on Vista32 HomePro for several minutes, guessing it should update the Hz sometime while watching (max core and max mem tests). Didn’t do it. Tried Draging the sliders down (just for a test) nothing happend, then up, nothing happend. Used “Set Clock” button when I changed the clockfq, just sets back to the default settings. I have a ASUS Laptop P31 what ever with a 8400MG which according to the FAQ is supported so what did I do wrong? I’d just like a little more performance in some games since the 8400MG suxx ass! And changing stuff like Texresolution or Screenresolution wont change shit (I wonder why...) High, low, doesn’t matter, always the friggn same. Only AA and anisofiltering will kill the fps. (ex, css dust2 35-50fps with all high or all low, doesnt matter only the location on the map changes the fps)
When I start ATItool up on a radeon 9600, the screen flickers in random areas. And the catalyst temp decection is wonky and flys betwen 45c and 20c. No changes made, its just open.

If anyone know a good way of cooling a 9500(with a heatsink from factory) other than using another card’s fan connected to the case fan port please let me know.

Really nice Tool, BUT: it keeps telling me: “no ati card was detected” with my modded GTO² :( Sometimes ATITool recognizes the card, most often not :(

Doesn’t work on my XP SP2 PC w/ATI AIW 9800 Pro. A window keeps popping up every time I try and start it saying: “The Kernel mode driver does not seem to be running. A device driver is required for communication with your video hardware.” Yes, the drivers are installed. I even went to XP Services and enabled the “ATI Smart” entry, but it won’t start. It says the service “started then stopped” and that it may be normal if the service is not “presently needed”.
Great program. Works on CPU=AMD64 3500+, Mobo=MSI-MS7093, OS=XP Pro SP2/MCE2005 VideoCard=GeCube X800XL 256MB.
You might provide a small section on which ATiTool settings require the Catalyst drivers to be installed and which don’t. For example, setting FAN parameters and temperature monitoring don’t seem to require the Catalyst drivers. So, if you’re not overclocking it can reduce complexity and might help reduce number of problems some people have.

Volt mod - I couldent find the option to change the volts. I got a screenie of my ati tool http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=14762 like 3rd post down, Franks ati tool looks diferent.
I use it to underclock the ati 9200 (really a 9000) in my compaq x1000 laptop. They have a history of running hot and crapping out in this system. I don’t need 3D, so this gets me a lot of headroom that will greatly extend the lifetime of my PC. THANKS!
