Frequently Asked Questions

HDD AAM does not work on RAID

In order to change the AAM state, SysTool talks to the HDD directly. When it is on a standard IDE controller, there is a standard way to do this.
Once you use a RAID controller, SysTool has to know how to talk to the individual HDDs on this certain RAID controller chip. Without chip datasheet this can’t be done, and even with, it is still a lot of work to do, so it is not supported at the moment.

Is SysTool free?

Yes SysTool is and will always be free to use. You may not sell SysTool.

If you want to include SysTool free of charge with a print magazine on physical media, send me an email to w1zzard@techpowerup.com to get a written permit.

How can I donate?

Don’t donate. Use the money to

  1. go out
  2. party
  3. get drunk
  4. get laid

(some entries may not apply to you because of age).
