Ghost of Tsushima Lets You Use DLSS 2 and FSR 3 Frame Generation Together

The latest update of Ghost of Tsushima lets you use DLSS 2 super-resolution and FSR 3 Frame Generation simultaneously, so you have the unique benefit of having the NVIDIA DLSS 2 handle super resolution and image quality, while letting the AMD FSR 3 nearly double frame-rates of the DLSS 2 output. All this, without the need for any mods, it's part of the game's original code. It's crazy when you think about it—you now have two performance enhancements running in tandem, with gamers reporting over 170 FPS at 4K with reasonably good image quality. This could particularly benefit those on older GeForce RTX 30-series "Ampere" and RTX 20-series "Turing" graphics cards, as those lack support for DLSS 3 Frame Generation.

This Week in Gaming (Week 20)

Welcome to the 20th week of 2024 and this week kicks off with a huge AAA space saga that some of you have been eagerly waiting for. However, we have a second AAA title this week, which is a few years old Playstation game that, despite the title, doesn't have anything to do with ghosts. The rest of this week's releases involve aliens, rhythms, world wars and pirates.

Homeworld 3 / This week's first AAA title / Monday 13 May
Tactical, beautiful, and wholly unique, the GOTY-winning sci-fi RTS returns with Homeworld 3. Assume control and battle through fleet combat in dazzling, fully 3D space while the award-winning story unfolds on a galactic scale. Strategic freedom is yours. Hulking space derelicts called megaliths bring 3D terrain into the classic Homeworld battlespace. Use the crumbling remains of an ancient civilization to funnel foes into a brilliant ambush or hide your fleet from powerful enemies. Fortresses teem with menacing turrets and invite your strike craft into dangerous trench runs deep behind enemy lines. But not everything is in your control. Dangerous space phenomena like particle storms and asteroid fields will test even senior commanders. Steam Link

The Game Awards 2020 Nominees Disclosed; Hades, The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima Most Nominated

2020 has been a good year for videogames, with the industry's juggernaut Cyberpunk 2077 still being around the corner. While that is easily one of the most awaited games ever in the history of videogames, it doesn't have to pick up the slack for an awful 2020 all by itself. The Last of Us Part 2 was a game that really, really stretched its legs when it comes to defying player expectations, showcasing two sides of the same story and placing players in opposing ends of the same race, rending our hearts and genre expectations alltogether. Ghost of Tsushima showcased a beautiful, enthralling game world with exquisite attention to detail and absolutely gorgeous scenery; and Hades showcased exactly what is the pinnacle of endgame content for a rogue-like, with astonishing art direction and a narrative that's cleverly interwoven in its roguelike dynamic. Last year saw the most wins go for the excellent Disco Elysium, the quasi-combatless story-based RPG from ZA/UM Studios that was 2019's biggest achievement (for this writer at least).

But that's as much as I have to say on this matter; you should really make up your own minds when it comes to some of these games, which sees The Last of Us Part 2 receive 10 nominations, Hades receives 8 nominations, and Ghost of Tsushima sees itself commended with 7 nominations. The 2020 game Awards will be an entirely online event sprawling across three cities - Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo - and will stream across 45 platforms, including the more ubiquitous YouTube and Twitch. You can vote for your favorite games across all available categories here. Look below the break to see the full list of nominees and respective categories.
