PC Building Simulator 2 Announced As An Epic Games Exclusive

Today we're excited to share something we've been making in the background for quite a while - PC Building Simulator 2. Working alongside the development team at Spiral House, and with nearly every major hardware vendor in the PC scene, announcing a sequel means a chance to step up and push the limits on virtual PC creation to new heights (and of course, add better RGB).

Sam 'Caliburn' Hills, Senior Community Manager of PC Building Simulator, explained "It's a chance for us to do a lot of the things we couldn't do before on a technical level. We're aiming to simultaneously add more depth to the simulation, increase options for customization, improve the ability to tinker, and to make a better-looking game... It's hard work but right now everyone on the team is really hyped."
Following on from the huge success of the first title, PC Building Simulator 2 will innovate on the original's repair shop experience, adding an improved and expanded feature set incorporating years of community feedback.

The balls on this dev. Makes a game that is exclusively marketed towards PC gamers. Makes a sequel when updating the original would've been enough. The sequel is PC gamers' most hated thing, an EPIC exclusive. Take an L dev.

That first sentence is kind of a weak argument, the same can be said of developers and consoles.

Some games need sequels because changes to the base code will break more code elsewhere. Its just not worth the hassle repairing and updating major changes. It also allows for moving to a new engine, new features, other better optimizations, etc., and dont forget adding console code because its more optimal than porting to them.

Hopefully this time it's a proper simulator without the shitty cable management or the lack of any flexibility regarding flipping fans or putting them onto radiators. Too bad it's on Epic as well...

Well, MAYBE, not the Only one but, I don't think it's demographic includes many people on TPU. That being said, I don't work in the computer biz, but I build computers for my Family and Friends. I have no desire to pretend to run a repair shop, nor do I want to work in one. I have enough fun trying to explain how things work, or why things won't work, to mostly computer illiterate folks, my family members are all boomers that had trouble with their VCR's, so...Hard NO on the sim bit, even if there aren't customer sims.

But, more on'ya. No reason you can't enjoy the game, or anyone else, for that matter. TBH, not even sure why I clicked on this Headline or, why I felt compelled to type this. Although, for just a moment, I was not thinking about work, now I am back to thinking about it...

So, I guess it was all because I needed a small break, I hope nobody minds me rambling on in here, being such a big news item with such important thing to take so seriously...

meh

I wonder if they are still bleeding money. I know so many people that have an epic account but don't use it or buy or play games on it. They log on once a week, claim the free game and shut it off till the next week.

I remember back in the days when you could afford a GPU for a reasonnable price.

Now you can only build a good PC in a video game, for which you need a GPU which you can't afford.

GerKNGGreat. another company takes timmy tencents CCP money.
i'll wait on crackwatch.
This is an unnecessary remark - Yes, Tencent invested in Epic, but Tim Sweeney still controls the company; Tencent doesn't have a large enough share ratio to influence Epic's decisions. Not to mention, there are lot of companies that have been invested in by Tencent, not just Epic, incl. Frontier Developments, Riot Games, Spotify, Grinding Gear Games, etc. Yes, Tencent is Chinese, but that's an unnecessary reason to hate on a company just because of where its based.

EDIT: Tencent has invested in over 1,200 companies as of early 2022.

DeathtoGnomesTrue, but the game functions more like running your own repair shop.

HAHA! Took me 3 tries and 2 rage uninstalls and reinstalls before I understood what to do.
I'm paid to be this patient with buggy custom software at work, but I have no desire to do it at home!

I don't get the hate on Epic since the beginning. I'm using both Steam and Epic and don't mind using either. I have some games purchased from Epic. Steam is indeed better for co-op since you can add friends, but for a person like me who prefers solo/single-player gaming it doesn't matter. IMO Steam is too cluttered with unnecessary features I'll never use like live streaming, trading card marketplace. For co-op games I just use Discord. Both Steam and Epic are just game stores from my perspective.
